I used to have a Nikon D3X camera, but later switched to the Leica system, purchasing the M11 and M246. I found that I preferred the M246 over the M11, probably because I felt that the colors of the M11 system were too vibrant, even to the point of being somewhat unrealistic. Am I the only one who feels this way?

As seen in this b&w image? I have had M(240), M10 and M11 and think the colours from all three are excellent. And with a RAW file imported to Lightroom you can adjust to whatever you want. IMHO unless you put significant effort into post-processing any worthwhile image you will not see the full potential of your camera.

Not sure what a vibrant B&W picture means exactly. Unless you're joking, do you mean on jpegs or raw and if raw, what raw converter are you using? If an Adobe one, i have little experience of them as i feel they oversaturate some colors.

I felt M11 colors are Sony-like.  I much prefer M10-R, M240, M9-P.  I had to get rid of M11s because of an SSD failure, and I was OK with them but had my misgivings.

I also feel that the old metering has something to do with the Leica look.  We know how it works so we correct by EV adjustment.  The "new" metering is doing AI every time and you don't know how to adjust without chimping.

I use Raw files, and process with Adobe Lightroom. Maybe I will set the colors in the camera and process the photos according to my preferences.

But you can't view them without any processing.

从 M11直接取出来的照片与尼康 D3X 拍摄的照片以及实际看到的照片相比,色彩更加鲜艳。

Colors are a subjective matter. To me, the M11 colors are rather natural, more so than those of my M240 and Sony cameras, to the point that i use jpegs more and more with the M11. As for raws, i don't use Adobe converters which produce too saturated colors for my taste. Compared to generic color profiles, that of the M11 has a slight red oversaturation that is easy to adjust in post, if needed, and don't seem to come from Sony, given than my Sigma FPL has the same or similar 60mp Sony sensor with a slightly colder rendition. YMMV.

Too true! People mean that they haven't bothered to check the preset processing of the program that they are using.

Oh search for my threads on SSD failure, you'll find a whole saga.:)

I will pass on that, just interested on what a SSD is  in the M11 as I have never heard of it. SSD to me means Solid State Drive.

Do you think that is the case in every meeting mode or only in the multi field metering?

What do you think is inside the M11?
