huwm Posted May 1 Share #1 Posted May 1 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does everyone just go full 60mp or has anyone decided 37mp more than enough? Will give it a go for my next couple of outings.

jankap Posted May 1 Share #2 Posted May 1 24 mp (Sigma fp) and 20 mp (Sony QX1) are enough for me.
Doc_P Posted May 1 Share #3 Posted May 1 Full size 61 MP with the Q3 43 - the Apo ist top notch - more flexibility down the road of PP. Not to forget the visual impact - at least on my 6K monitor...
keeping_a_balance Posted May 1 Share #4 Posted May 1 Usually when I have received a new 3 resolution sensor I would shoot max resolution for a while then usually go down to the medium size. Will go up to max if I think what I am shooting is worthy of one day becoming a massive print or something... however, after so many years I have never been able to chose a pic I am happy enough with to do a massive or even large print... I should really just shoot at medium always...
Tarekith Posted May 1 Share #5 Posted May 1 Full 60MP always here. Storage is cheap and I’m picky about what I save anyway.

SrMi Posted May 2 Share #7 Posted May 2 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Full 60MP. Post-processing (transformations, AI NR) is more effective with more data. Edited May 2 by SrMi
Miltz Posted May 2 Share #8 Posted May 2 M-DNG is better for high iso shooting so I use that when I need to shoot past 3200ISO. Especially if you push the files.

If you compare the files at the same output size, M-DNG is as good for high ISO shooting as L-DNG.
Mikep996 Posted May 2 Share #10 Posted May 2 But why buy a 60MP camera in the first place if you feel that fewer MP is what you need?
Le Chef Posted May 2 Share #11 Posted May 2 Full 60MP. I cull images I don't want to keep once I've dowloaded them to LR.
