Looks like a new lens is coming out?

Aspherical lens with 4 groups 6 elements
Brass body (99g)
Minimun Focus distance 70cm

Looks similar to Leica 35 F3.5 Elmar...

It seems there was not enough demand for the LTM versions of the recent lenses.

It‘s funny that they propose choosing f-stops with the hood. I wonder whether the hood will fit on a 35mm Elmar or Summaron and the Leica FOOKH will fit on the Voigtländer.

Does the LTM Summaron 35/3.5 have this same aperture ring? Just curious.

No - it's a separate aperture ring turning the 'right' way (sorry for quick phone snap).

I believe the aperture ring turns the "right" way - it's just that the numbers are on the lens barrel and the index on the aperture ring. Turn the ring fully "to the right" in either case and the lens is wide open.

Yes.

As the front element turns around when you focus you may see the aperture engravings in a position where they look "right way":

Yes, I think you are correct. It is confuzzled because the index dot moves instead of the numbers.

I am very interested in this given it's a 35, and I like the black version. I like that it's brass too. You'd think I'd go for the silver for the MP 240 Safari, but I really like how easy it is to see all the engraved indicators on the black.

I have the new version of the 35mm Color Skopar, black ver'II f2.5 and I like it a lot.........Perfect on a M body with a decent bayonet mount lens hood it makes a great easy-carry combination with film or digital, it's performance too is nothing to shake a stick at. Recommend it.
