Advertisement Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Hi mmanda, Take a look here EVF M rumoured. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Popular Post tappan Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Share #3622 Posted 21 hours ago Twas the night before the M-EV when all through the forum, not a Leica purist was smiling, or showing decorum, The newbies were stoic, they could hardly be moved, In hopes that their focus would soon be improved. The spouses were worried, thinking that this isn't funny, With visions of their husbands losing all of their money; And little Joey and Patty in their rooms feeling stunned, for dad is about to borrow from their college fund! When out in Wetzlar there arose such a clatter, With Dr. Kaufmann, Stefan Daniel, and Pater Karbe's chatter. GO LEICA !!!!!! 5

Maybe not quite as hard as you think (except not coupled - you have to read the measurement off the dial, and then transfer that by hand to the lens focus ring scale). And cheaper, too. This was the only focusing tool (except guessing, or tape measures) for the original-series Leicas whose 100th anniversary we are celebrating this year. The built-in RFs took another seven years to arrive (1932). https://www.ebay.com/itm/267419960118?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1Bxv3VDsuSiGqHqPkQUMIAQ42&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-173151-913341-5&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=267419960118&targetid=2320093655185&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9028778&poi=&campaignid=22880021969&mkgroupid=183180925386&rlsatarget=pla-2320093655185&abcId=10409737&merchantid=505774812&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22880021969&gbraid=0AAAAAD_QDh_MCTMb5ALU2km5m3uY0EUOr&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9vetk5u5kAMVVgWtBh07DxTvEAQYAiABEgL8vfD_BwE

I’m hoping it’s for a unique focusing experience.
evikne Posted 15 hours ago Share #3631 Posted 15 hours ago (edited) The big remaining question is how focus confirmation works and what the patch window has to do with this. Actually, I don't think the missing viewfinder window looks that bad, as long as the camera is in black, that makes it less prominent. But silver would look very strange. mikeamosau Posted 15 hours ago Share #3632 Posted 15 hours ago Since I’m in the US and my invite got canceled, I’ll laugh if they don’t announce this camera. I will say, to make myself feel better sitting at home… all my favorite photos in history were taken on a rangefinder and not one on any rumored EVF M. So there!
jankap Posted 15 hours ago Share #3633 Posted 15 hours ago I never had an M, so I can suggest things without consequences. My LTM is there still, but not used. I can't bring myself to sell the camera of my father.

The superior accuracy of the RF up to about 100 mm is well documented. I recommend reading Gúnther Osterloh: Leica M advanced Photo School. IMO required reading for anybody aspiring to use a Leica M to its full potential. Meanwhile the real difference is that with an optical telescope viewfinder you are looking at the real world and with an EVF you are looking at a video on a mini-screen. 3
rramesh Posted 15 hours ago Share #3635 Posted 15 hours ago Wonder if we will soon have a focus speed and accuracy contest. M vs M-EV with different lenses.

costa43 Posted 15 hours ago Author Share #3637 Posted 15 hours ago (edited) For me it’s not a matter of one or the other as the RF always wins out in this comparison. It’s whether I will have both alongside each other. If the focus confirmation is unique and not what we have in every other mirrorless camera to date then it could compliment the standard RF nicely. evikne Posted 15 hours ago Share #3638 Posted 15 hours ago (edited) One good thing about the omitted viewfinder window is that it puts an end to the notorious fingerprints. 😂 Edited 15 hours ago by evikne 1
hexx Posted 15 hours ago Share #3639 Posted 15 hours ago (edited) If I'm thinking about this correctly - and please correct me if I'm wrong - does that mean that the way this will work is that you have EVF for framing of any lens of any focal length and then RF patch for focusing? Seems rather strange Edited 15 hours ago by hexx
