There are many people here doubting that the M EV or whatever the name is coming now. I don't know that either. I just know two facts:

1) Parts of the Leica Production that is typcially open to watch for visitors has been shielded over the last months.

2) I am invited by my Leica Store to the introcution of a "New Milestone" on October 23rd.

If the doubters are right, what else could it be that Leica tries to keep secret and that they would call a Milestone? A new Watch 🤣?

A watch is sort of old hat for luxury image brands now. Leica Blackstone is getting with the times and abandoning physical goods altogether - selling only vibes and brand association -  entering the world of speculative assets, Leica crypto get it now, add it to your wallet before the first drop is gone!

I sold all my Ms and bought NFTs of them. My art dealer convinced me it’s a great investment and they’re so much easier to carry around!

Watches aren't produced in the camera factory, contrary to popular belief. I say "popular belief" because every time a new watch is announced, people complain that they should be working on [their favourite speculative product] instead!

The S4 is supposed to come-out in 2026. Bodies and lenses should be in production already if it's a Q1 release.

I believe "watch" was intended as public viewing access to the factory has been restricted (unable to watch).

It seems this thread will hit 200 pages without any proof of something certain. The NDA's seem to be holding if in fact there are NDA's for this product.

200 pages sounds like a worthy goal… so here we go….  Based on what I have seen/heard… I am looking forward to a M11-E or EVF… whenever it comes out.. I’m hoping sooner rather than later.  I want a M camera that I can look through the viewfinder and don’t have to focus and recompose… and check focus and recompose… and triple check focus and recompose…. And still feel unconfident as to whether it is in focus or not….  I want to be able to see focus in the viewfinder… I do not want to shoot with live view… I don’t want to mess with a Visoflex…. I also love the rumored use of the preview lever to toggle focus mode and magnification….  I have high hopes…. Those dipped a bit after Jono’s post…. But hope springs eternal…

If this camera delivers the viewing experience of a Q3, it may actually not be easier to see what is in focus. 🫣

If you crop images from the Q3 (as the design envisages), then a EVF M should be easier, because it will show the view of the chosen, appropriate lens. That's the manual focus limitation of the Q series with their fixed lenses.

I was referring to this:

I'm sure that a new watch model is coming, at some point, but this has nothing to do with cameras.

Why are you even shooting with an M? In all seriousness, it seems like a system with AF would be much more suitable. The M isn't for everyone. I know experienced pros that won't go near them, and that's fine. Considering the M-EVF won't have autofocus, I'm not sure it's going to be that much easier for you, and in some cases even more difficult (at least that's my experience using a visoflex vs the rf).

I like the Visoflex on my M's.

That said I would prefer an EVF included inside the body. How they implement it will be a decision point for me.

Trouble is by the time Jono has his initial review my dealer will already want an answer from me.

If the past is a teacher, Jono will post his review very shortly after the embargo ends.   If you have a relationship with your dealer, he'll put you on the list and let you decide when its announced.  All without ever admitting there is anything to order - yet.

Perhaps he has been too busy reviewing new Noctilux lenses …. not new cameras.
