All;

I own a Leica SL2-S and several L-mount lenses. I also own quite a few AI-S Nikkor lenses and wondered if I could use them on my Leica L Mount body?

I saw this Novoflex Adapter: Novoflex Nikon F Lens to Leica SL/T Camera Body Lens Adapter

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1103373-REG/novoflex_let_nik_lens_mount_adapter.html/reviews

Does anybody use this adapter? It appears to be manual everything - i.e. no information is transferred to/from the body, but it can be used on manual mode or Aperture Priority, which is ok by me.

Thanks, Brad

Works with Nikon F lens except the E (electronic) lenses, Leica made a special adapter for the E lenses when the SL was introduced.  For G lenses the blue ring is not a convenient method to set a preferred aperture, there isn't any indication for the aperture setting.  It works as you have noted with aperture priority or manual.  If you have the 50mm or 55mm  f1.2 Nikkor it's a fun substitute for the original Noctilux.

Bherman.

I have this adapter. I purchased it to use with a AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm 2.8 G ED lens to occasionaly digitize film. I have also used it to do close ups of leaves. It is manual everything. Metering seems to work using the blue adjustment ring on adapter. But again, it is manual, and trial and error is the way to go. Not ideal, but I'll still be able to use this lens  for a few things. I wouldn't expect to capture anything like sports or fast moving. Here is a link to some macro I shot with this lens and the SL3 along with some good info:

Most of the lenses that I own are AI-S Nikkor, but I also have a couple of the new Voigtlander AI-S lenses, that are 'chipped' with the contacts for the newer Nikon cameras, so I'm wondering if there will be any information transferred or will they still work the same as 40-year-old Nikkors?

I have the exact same adapter (Novoflex) and the SL2-S. It works great but all manual and no information transferred to the files. Otherwise, great adapter, nicely built (as expected from Novoflex). Let me know if you have any particular question.

I use the Novoflex with a variety of Nikkor lenses. All on manual or A as previously identified. With the 85 1.4 G, wide open : it is stunningly good and more "buttery" as compared to my 50 lux ASPH, my 50 cron and my 90 cron M mount lenses. Not "better" or "worse" just another rendering and very different than that lens on my nikon bodies. So the adapter ring opens a great diversity of new looks. The blue ring aperture selector is unmarked so all estimated between "open wide" and smallest. Requires some faith :) [and practice]. Enjoy it. Nice addition to the lens fold.
