Charging battery with usb-c

I'm new to M11 but an old time user with all Leica cameras from analog to digital. Just bought the new M11 GBP, it's a wonderful camera and looks amazing. Leica have cut some corners with not deliver a charger with the camera and I've to charge it through usb-c cables. I think it'll work fine for most occasions with a power bank but I wonder if I could use faster charging with the charger for my MacBook Pro without damage the battery? I've read the manual but didn't find any recommendations.

Leica not cutting corners . . . blame the European Union, this is part of the Common Charging Directive.  The M11 battery charger is a neat and compact accessory.  I have one that came with my M11 Mono before the directive came into force.  UK price is £125, shame they didn’t reduce the camera price to compensate 😕

Thanks, ok. It sounds of course ridiculous not being able to charge the battery for a new unit, what ever it could be but I understand.  From now we all charge from older chargers  usb-c as EU have thought it would be the the standard forever.

Ok, but how are we dealing with this now? Can I use my fastest and powerful charger to my new M11?

You can. I use the Apple MacBook charger since the beginning. No problem.

FWIW, I've found USB-C charging on the M11 (regular, -M, and -P) to be very finicky about what kind of power supply it will charge with. I have a number of battery packs that will charge my Q3 43 and Q3 without issue, and they won't charge my M11's. They do all seem to charge off my Macbook pro just fine. If I forget to bring the "right" USB-C battery pack, I'll charge the M11's off my laptop on one side, and just charge the laptop with the battery pack.

I've yet to find any rhyme or reason for which USB-C battery packs work with my M11's.. I have some very high end ones that don't charge the camera, and some cheap ones that do, tried a number of cables, same result.

Try to use the powerbank that delivers at least 30w or more

I have power banks that can deliver up to 40W, 65W and 100W, all via PD spec.. it's unfortunately not related to the energy output. 😕 

I can charge the M11's via the fancy 100W power bank (this guy also runs 120v A/C equipment as well up to 900W), but I need to us a USB-A to USB-C adapter and use a USB-A port on the power bank in order for the camera to actually charge. Direct USB-C (PD) turns the camera light on for a second, then off, then no charge. Same with my other ones. I had assumed it was an M11 (original, not P/M) thing, but every M11 body I've had does this (2 M11's, an M11-P and M11-M).
