Would think that an explicitly stated beta-version was due to an update...

Agree, even slightly strange that this option wasn't included at the launch of the camera. Although I think I recall that a Leica representative was surprised of the interest at/around the launch of SL3.
davidmknoble Posted December 11, 2024 Share #6  Posted December 11, 2024 It is very different to take a 24 or 43 mp sensor and move it by less than a pixel to combine multi-shot images and then doing the same for 60+ mp.  I dont know of any 100mp cameras that do this. The tolerance for sensor movement is really tight and incredibly small. I think it might be possible, but we don’t know if the sensor has a ‘motor’ that has that tight of a tolerance to move.  More likely, they would use the lower resolution to create a multi-shot that is in the 100-150 mp range. Just my thoughts.

Photoworks Posted December 11, 2024 Share #9 Â Posted December 11, 2024 It was not there at launch because they said it was a new IBIS and they had to create a new code for it. Â I didn't see Frame.io in the article 2

Sony's 60MP cameras can do multi-shot, but no 60+ MP cameras can assemble the multi-shot in the camera itself as SL2 does. All of them require cumbersome post-processing software and Hasselblad can do it only tethered. 3
FlashGordonPhotography Posted December 11, 2024 Share #16  Posted December 11, 2024 I’ll settle for EFCS. And allowing the rear dial to be programmed. Maybe some extra function for the new dial and Leicons. As far as AF I’d like to see AFC NOT lock onto a blade of grass in front of an elephant in animal detect mode. Basically it’s no good being fast if it’s not accurate first. I stopped using multishot in favour of stitching some time ago. Far more reliable in the field. The released multishot update does not support 400MP yet. A beta software that supports 400MP was demonstrated on YT.
