Your desert island lens on an SL

I've just seen this B&H video and thought about what would be my desert island lens on an SL system. I guess mine would be a toss up between the 50/1.4 SL and the 28 APO SL.

I love the 50/1.4 SL as well. Balances perfectly on the SL(601), though the combo is a tad heavy

I have moved on to the Sigma 50mm 1.2.

Focus so much quicker and it renders nicely!

On a desert island, the 90-280 is most useful for cracking coconuts. And the hood is convenient for preserving rainwater. 😀

hands down for me.  Kind of hard to go wrong with any of the SL lenses especially apo’s.

Mine would be how to get off it.
So, can the SL and its lenses be repurposed for use as (a) a float (b) a distress flare (c) a communications device?
