I would be very pleased if Leica introduced a [full frame CL / small SL / Panasonic S9 with built-in EVF / L-Mount EVF M🙄], but I suspect Leica sees the Q as addressing that niche (small full-frame), even though that leaves some customers' wishes unfulfilled.

The latest 2023-24 results from Leica, state that The most significant revenue driver was the Q3.

The challenge for Leica is what do they do for an encore? The Q3 family is only missing an M version, which apparently can’t yet be done because Sony don’t have a sensor with the Bayer array that can handle PDAF.

Maybe an X Vario like Q to cover all bases?

I am using my SL lenses on the CL and my M lenses too. And I did not say, that it should have the SL size. I am sure there will be technology that enables smallness. And I am dreaming of lighter, smaller, SL lenses anyway.

I use my 24 -70 and even my 90 -280 on my CL sometimes in addition to my M lenses of course

I know that I`ve said it before but I find my SL2s body unnecessarily heavy.

Not heavy per se just pointlessly so , which for some odd reason discourages me from using it unless I have to.

I`ve also reinvested in a couple of the CL lenses .

for the same size and weight

only thing missing with the CL is fullframe

But im ok with APSC.

full frame will be better tho

will buy one in a heart beat.

Thats the ultimate camera for me, CL FF with noctilux f1

I would be the first on the list for a CL2 along the design of the CL with a state-of-the-art 24MP APSC sensor, modern AF engine, USB Charging, IBIS, 5MP EVF, a joystick and a tiltable display. I would happily let go off all advanced video functions to save space and energy.

you just described the perfect camera.  maybe it wouldn't need the EVF if it has a good tillable screen and modern AF [for M lenses though it would be required]

it seems a no brainer to me.  it should be Leicas true anniversary camera.

I might have said so earlier... but I would go for a 60mp full frame camera with the same size and weight as the CL, and proper weather sealing. I would like IBIS but this would probably be unrealistic with a full frame sensor. I'd prefer a cl2 with IBIS and an APSC sensor but this won't happen.

I'd be happy without a screen at the back, and actively dislike flip out screens, but would like a better FOTOS app. At present it takes ages to load and keeps asking to download photos from the camera, or tries to sell me an sl3 which I don't want. As a remote release or remote viewfinder, the app is sadly lacking. I want something that connects to my camera and shows me a remote viewfinder or control panel within a second or two.
