Here @Kim Dahl just posts something in order to post something without ever informing or knowing how serious the source is. That to me is a strange behaviour. I wonder why he is posting this sensational title at all. There are enough users here who could post their own experience that we could then discuss. When you read this title here you expect something fully different. Why spread the impression that all M cameras are freezing?

Just as an information: My M11 never freezes. And my M11-D does not either.

Hi, Good for you. It is certainly not to spread rumours. I have referred to the source and asked if anyone else has had the error. If you want to bother to see my sources - which I assume you haven't seen in the end - I can't tell if they are serious any easier than you. There is no reason whatsoever for the rage you bring. I mean we have a forum to discuss leica. good and bad. And it is probably no secret that there have been problems. ps Watch my post 4 videos too and you might understand better.

I tire of this statement about M11 problems.. since we have no info on sales or real data’s on actual real freezing camera it might be a nothing.

I for one have no significant issues with my M11 and frankly every camera i ever own had quirks of its own. Even Rolls Royce come with a warranty… but why they are perfect right?

+1. Too bad Leica found solutions to fix some freezes, now M11 bashers have to find new reasons for complaining. We got the so-called magenta cast, the M11-D locking completely, the continuous mode slower than machine gun's, what else? There is at least one good thing, new whiners swear that they like the M11. Nobody's perfect 😄

Jeg ville foretrække, at moderatorerne redigerer sådanne idiotiske emner, så de ikke bliver clickbait.

So you really mean that if there is a problem with something then it must not be in the headline? ? -

it's crazy in a democratic forum. I haven't done anything because you have to click on it if you don't want to.

The title perfectly fits the question and the problem the youtuber in question has.

I have been in the media industry for 40 years (at a large newspaper in Denmark) as a press photographer.

Always had a Leica. I have been a loyal member of the leica forum for many years.

This is a very provocative statement. Not ok

If everyone only had to write about their own experiences, you could remove many posts.

I think the title fits perfekt.

All the headlines you see in the media are not own experiences but reports from others. There is pretty clear evidence that this is a real experience. Therefore, the title fits very well. End off dis

= Good tone again. I have nothing more to add. Nice people have said they have had no problems - good for them - and others have said they have had problems.

That was the answer to the question I asked.

Not many have had a problem with a locked camera. One where the battery was dead.

So it has given me an answer as to whether I want to open "my" Leica M11-D or I skip the M11 model.

Jono has replied in another thread that most problems with the M11 should now be solved. I want to believe that.

So the decision is at least closer to ... Q343 or M11-D ... 🤔 a luxury problem

End of discussion…

Honestly that's a really lazy characterisation of my point, it was nothing to do with 'machine gun' continuous mode, it was being responsive to second shutter presses, that's not a crazy concept, it's a basic. I appreciate that if you take pictures of flowers, parking lots, art work this will not be an issue.

I can confirm your lawyers ability to undermine and annoy the witness by twisting the truth remains intact!

Your title as written is English probably isn’t conveying what you meant it to. It should say, something like:

“An M11-D that bricked up” or

“M11-D video: it completely died on them”

Your current title in English may convey this meaning either directly or by implication:

“All M11-D cameras lock up” or

”M11-Ds are locking up”

Your title reads as plural or general of multiple or all M11-Ds. But it also downplays the issue because “lockups” or “locks up completely” doesn’t mean what you meant it to mean. The term you were looking for is “bricked” or “completely died”.

Yes, maybe. English is not my main language. The title of the video is:

"New Leica M11-D already broken"

And the text is:

“When I was working on a video for my new Leica M11-D this evening, it got stuck on me. I doubt I've gotten 30 shots on it so far, and yes, I've pulled the battery out and put it back in several times. I have tried everything. It won't turn on! The battery is at 75%. I checked it on my M11-P so it's not the battery. Come on Leica... get your act together! #leica #leicacamera #leicam11D"

“Sorry if some misunderstand”

Sorry if some people misunderstand it. I didn't want to make a fuss, I'm close to buying an M11-D or a Q343 myself, but I'm honestly not sure if I should jump on the M11 series or wait for the M12.

Maybe or maybe not. I'm not in the situation where I can just do both.

Thanks for the post hdmesa📷☺️

If you have concerns but would like one, I think you need to get an assessment of how much of a problem remains following the latest FW release. You could also take comfort from the expectation that IF this FW update doesn't totally fix all cameras there will be another FW release.

If you do get a M11-D follow 'best practice' of fully charging battery and updating FW before using camera.

Enjoy whatever you decide - buying a new Leica should be a fun experience.

May I suggest Kim Dahl to contact the YouTuber if Kim would like to know more about that malfunction M11D as I haven’t read any members in the forum own M11D saying their M11D has problems.

That's a good idea. If it was a botched firmware update attempt, then that would be a better situation.

Yes, "New Leica M11-D" implies a single experience/camera and "broken" is another way to say "bricked", "died" or "dead".

The firmware side for all the M11 variants is now very stable. I think the guy in the video just got a bad unit, which happens to all camera manufacturers. I think we hear about it more with Leica due to the brand recognition, price, and high expectations.
