robb Posted September 23, 2024 Share #487 Posted September 23, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) MTF will rarely get better than that. Looks stellar even wide open. Should be a perfect mix in with the SL apo lenses we already love. Robb

Im not smart, but judging from those lines.... Those are like the best MTF's one can wish for. Center to corner resolution and contrast is almost equal all across the frame with very minimal fall off. Very smooth out of focus area (bokeh) as well. Here in Australia, the turn around time for servicing has improved so much since the servicing has moved in-house here. Of course some things still need to get sent back to Germany (new af motors for my S lenses for example) and that still takes a few months. I live in Sydney, but I order my Leicas from Carlo, the manager of the Melbourne store. I hardly step into the Sydney store unless there’s an interesting gallery show opening. Just the nature of relationships I guess.

I always went through my dealer (Camera West, Walnut Creek) and I never had any issues with customer service. If I had a quality control issue, my dealer would have taken care of it promptly. keithlaban.co.uk Posted September 23, 2024 Share #496 Posted September 23, 2024 (edited) Can anyone here please confirm if back button focusing with the current Q3 (28) is possible? I'm trying to gauge whether it will be a possibility on the Q3 43? Many thanks in advance. Edited September 23, 2024 by keithlaban.co.uk

You can lock the focus, but it gets unlocked as soon as you change the aperture or press any button, including shutter.

BBF requires removal of focusing operation from the shutter and initiating focus by a separate button.

I've been using true back button focussing on all of my cameras for many years.
