I just calibrated my rangefinder on my M11 - apparently it was off - and that was affecting my Tele Elmar's focus enough that I thought the lens was needing adjustment (apparently difficult with this lens), so I put it aside. Now - having made the rangefinder adjustment, I have pulled it back out and am doing some testing. Is it sharp? Here is a blow up from the 60mp M11 - about 100% I think. Wow - yes - it's sharp. Can have a little CA - easily fixed in LR though.

Yes, it's a fine lens. I've gone thru 5 of them over a number of years, and just received my latest one in the mail earlier this week. I keep selling them when I go for a year or so not using them, then something pops up and I find another bargain out there...ah well. Glad  to hear someone else is enjoying theirs as much as I do.

My Tele-Elmar 135/4 works so well on the M11 that i tend to forget the 135/3.4 apo which shows more color fringing curiously enough. The Tele-Elmar has negligible CA in my experience but better avoid over-exposures anyway.

I’ve got the 3.4 APO and am not sure it’s really any better - mine flairs at the slightest hint of direct glare (unlike the Elmar) and isn’t any sharper. I’ve replaced it for now and we’ll see if it makes its way back into the bag at some point…

My copy doesn’t focus to infinity. Can it be adjusted?

Yes it can by a competent technician. It is slightly more complex than most other M lenses - it has an internal helicoid and a slider. The most probable cause is that the barrel does not match the head - there should be matching numbers engraved inside.
