You don't flip between views?  I check level and histogram and then all my side info are gone by flipping FN buttons. I don't keep does up all the time.
When you half press to shoot everything goes away anyway.

A: I turned 3 of the 4 Info Levels on and switch between views all the time. It's just that that self-timer circular bubble is perpetually on regardless of how minimal your Info Level is.

Just my point, how do you know what is happening if you don't have the status screen?  I think you assume that everyone should remember in the previews setting, or what you did yesterday, and what the other person did operating the camera.

A: No current production Leica bodies have an actual actuation count. However I was referring to the file numbering not being forced reset after a firmware update on my M11 generation body, meaning I can vaguely estimate the rough accumulative shutter count from the file numbering (M11003213 = 3,213 shots taken). The problem is with the SL3, my file numbering could be (L000549 - 549 shots taken) before, and after the firmware update it would be back to L000001, making it substantially harder to keep track of the overall usage.

if you look in the forum there are suggestions on how to get it back after an update. I get that it doesn't change your suggestion on not having it reset.

To my use it is not important, I never use original names, I rename on import to something significant.

When using Magnified Live view for adapted lenses (M lenses on dummy adapter):

It seems that Leica is using an upscaled preview for magnified live view, making it softer than it should be. To see this, push the joystick to magnify, then turn the right top wheel to zoom out one step. That zoomed out view seems to be the native resolution. Can anyone else verify this? Wondering if this is a bug or perhaps they took a time-saving shortcut when writing the code.

It has been the same on the SL2, but SL2 preview looks better because it is a bit more contrasty.

Ugh, I never had an issue focusing on the SL2 or SL2-S – magnified live view always seemed adequate to quickly focus. With the SL3 and a lower contrast lens wide open, it never "snaps" into focus, rather there is a point at which the image is less blurry (which requires focusing back and forth a few times to make sure). What I've had to resort to is watching for the screen to show aliasing, which it only does when perfect focus is achieved (screen seems to sparkle because the contrast at the pixel level jumps slightly). That method of magnified live view focusing is something I had to do back in the early days of high res sensors – for example, the original GFX 50S in 2017. Feels like taking a step backward in time.

It is not that bad! lol

the SL2-s is always a little better than SL2. The BIS helped to clean up the live view.

I want SL2-S level of detail in the magnified live view. SL3 is also BSI, and it has a faster processor. It's like they left it on the SL2-S magnification power then upscaled it 2x 🤮

I'm surprised the multishot hasn't made an appearance yet on the SL3;

for some subjects, i thought it was a handy feature on the SL2s in tidying up the problems associated with the color filter array; and it was also much more usable and "intelligent" than the multishot on (say) the GFX100, where any subject movement causes issues
