Short update:

We are moving the Leica Forum to a new server end of September.

Together with my provider I'm alreday preparing everything in order to make the move as smooth as possible.

The 503 errors may be caused by this preparations. I experienced similar problems too in some of my backend services.

I try to fix this on short term. If this doesn't work we have at least the prospect that the new server will fix it ;)

Update:

My provider and I identified a possible source for the server problems.

The server is overloaded by a large number of requests from a few servers. My guess is that they are harvesting the precious Leica KnowHow for AI training…

Every time I ask ChatGPT something related to Leica, I get the feeling that everything it says sounds very familiar. 😊

I can't help wondering if/when AI will become a 'victim' of its own machinations.  To explain, the more data that AI samples for training the higher the likelihood is that a portion will be generated by AI so as time goes on the proportion of original data will decrease and eventually the proportion will become original data: 0% and AI generated: 100%.

That is indeed a known problem. It goes around in a circle. Will be fun . . .

In nearly every usage of AI that I have come across, AI = AS (Artificial Stupidity). AI driven chat boxes are amongst the most useless thing ever.

I know that AI is an interesting topic but please keep with the original topic of this thread.

Yesterday I have banned some IP address ranges which caused much traffic, slowing down the forum.

Did you experience problems over the last 12 hours?
