Why the difference in power consumption between SL3 and Q3?

What I still don't understand: SL3 and Q3 have the same CPU, the same sensor, almost the same viewfinder - but the Q3 consumes 34% less power. How can that be?

Maybe the little AF engines in the AF lenses consume different amounts of power?

OIS on lenses, more elaborate video options using more power, different AF, different shutter mechanism, etc.

Per the latest SL3 and Q3 technical data sheets (downloaded from Leica's site), both cameras have 350 shots per CIPA, and All Displays Auto Off at 5 sec.

wow, that's right - some days ago it still says 260; maybe the "Auto power Off 5 sec" is important.

Now there are different data sheets around all dated march 2024    😞

yes, I downloaded:

• the first version, saying 260 with old battery BP-SCL4, which must be a mistake
• the second version saying 260 with BP-SCL6
• and now the third version saying 350 with BP-SCL6 and this Auto Power Off setting 

all dated March 2024...

...and the confusion still goes on:  while the english data sheet says CIP 350, the german version still has CIP 260...

it must be very complicated...    😉

Its a more complex language so seemingly requires more energy 😉

CIPA ratings are as meaningful as the official consumption figures of a car.
