The first from me since returning from an Epic adventure through North Norway.

This is Elitsa my girlfriend, standing with a bright torch under the brightest northern lights that I have ever seen!

Another wonderful one! Would you share the lens and exposure details? :)

Hi Hooly,

Shot on the Sigma 14mm F1.4 (a fantastic night sky lens), at F1.7, 6 seconds and ISO 1250.

Northern lights require short shutter speeds to capture their definition, as they move somewhat. Longer shutters will leave a blurry green smudge basically.

This one took some time to put together. Some unbelievably cold weather endured, down to -15 at times due to the elevation and clear night sky. Plus, some really tough hiking through knee deep snow several times to get the shot set up right. And then to sit and wait and hope that some cars drove over the 2300m high mountain pass in the night, not asking for much eh 😁 by the way, hardly any did...

I then hiked down and back up to the mountain (Ra Gusela) to illuminate it with a bright head torch.

But, it was worth it and was a lot of fun. We hiked up here several times over 24 hours for sunrise and sunset too. A stunning place up at Pass Giau

A two image panorama with the SL3 and 21mm APO.

This was an experiment with drone lighting, using an Air 3 with small lights attached during a long exposure, the aim, to illuminate the mountain and create some other worldly light trails. I have done this before but here I have gone for a trio of straight lines.

Tell me what you think?
