He may well be scrupulous be personally I have seen too many basic errors to trust any of his conclusions.

Even better - I wouldn't know as I never read his stuff, because it's so obviously geared to sending traffic to his pay site - which I don't want to read because of his attitude! Sean Reid is a different matter altogether however.

Sean is a very nice guy and he knows what he is doing. Lloyd lacks basic knowledge of photography.

+1 for Sean Reid, though his way of determining native ISO is wonky :).

Sean is the opposite of Lloyd (in a positive sense), though I must say that Lloyd's paid articles are much calmer than his public posts.

But he is scrupulous to everything he is testing, why Leica should be any different? Personally I think it is quite fair, but this is Leica forum, so heavy bias is expected

I"m quite willing to believe that he is on his pay site - but never having paid for it I've never read anything calm - because I don't like the sensationalist way he draws traffic to his site!

He seems to be the unluckiest photographer alive. His luck with Macs is similar.

unfortunately, his paid for content reaches no actionable conclusions and I often couldn’t see the effects he was finding on the photos that he showed.  The trouble with a sharpness is the only thing that matters approach is you get no insight into other drawing characteristics much less ergonomics.

I have recently had a problem with the SL3 in conjunction with the handgrip:

When the new BP-SCL6 battery is used in the handgrip, I still get the annoying warning message that it is the old battery with limited functions. Happens with three different BP-SCL6 and has not been like this before.

I’m thinking about getting the hand grip myself. Could you please tell me, does it use up the handgrip battery first and then the camera battery?

good question. it is supposed to use the 2nd battery first. Leica claims they have fixed it over the SL2.  But since the firmware is still beta it is all a mystery

yes!

and USB charging now works with both batteries (SL2: only the one inside the camera)

My problem has been solved: After contacting the CS, who responded very quickly during the holiday period, I thoroughly cleaned the contacts on both sides again and since then the BP-SCL6 has been correctly recognised in the handgrip again! Very nice

It's his "pseudo" friends that I get a kick out of.  The one called Roy (if I remember correctly)  has the same comments as Lloyd.

I have sent him emails about his issues and even informed him about the M11 grip which he had not yet seen and he doubted I had one in hand which I did from day one. After that I can no longer send him emails. Guess he blocked me since I had positive comments to share.
