Leica certainly knows how to massage its customer base. Rumoured price $8000 at the start of this thread. How many more people will be reaching for their card now they've seen it's 'only' $6995? (Without a battery charger😉).

Yes, true. I started with monochrome Q2, but if you eat the same thing every day, life will turn into a nightmare. I fell in love with the Q2 and wanting more, I replaced it with a used M10 which I replaced with an M11 and then I cried and missed the M10. this is my path and now with pain together with SL3. crazy way but now i know more. next step will be M10D and 28mm lux, this comobo waiting for me

The Leica Australia prices never fail to be offensive: In USA, $6995 USD (presumably including goods/sales tax ?)  = AUD $10,100 (and bear in mind we are at our weakest point against US dollar right now so the conversion should usually be significantly less than that). 

However, list price in Australia is $11,600 inc, and we have a relatively small Goods & Sales Tax (10%)

In Europe, RRP EUR6,800 inc Tax (let's assume a 22% tax rate).   That's equivalent $9221 AUD net of tax.  Yet Leica here is charging $10,545 + Tax.

No matter how the tax is handled (usually exports are tax free?) we are paying far more than other territories 

At $11,600 AUD any stills shooters here would be crazy not to pay an extra $800 for a Hasselblad X2D

To add insult to injury, we are also totally shafted on M series. How’s $15,790 for M11 Monochrom? That’s not just a little steep, it’s utterly hysterical.

Yep certainly is.   And after using an M11 (M11-P $15,190) but now owning an X2D ($12,460) I agree with you the pricing is laughable - I felt that way from the first shutter click on the X2D 

In your example: M11-M List price Europe (inc 22% VAT) EUR9450.  Take off the GST for Export to Australia = EUR7745 ex / AUD 12800 ex .  Add our GST back on top brings RRP $14,080 inc Tax.  Where is the extra $1700 coming from 🤣

No, tax will be in addition to that.

Sales tax will be added in some states. In California, a bit less than 10%.

I cant believe that the SL2 is currently selling for $300 less than, the new SL3, here in Australia. I cant remember paying that much for my SL2 last year about this time? It's kind of a no brainer. You may as well get the SL3. Did someone say Hasselblad?

Wow I wasn't aware of that r.e. the SL2 price.  Indeed, the X2D imagery is world's apart from these options IMHO
