Not freezing or film scratch "tool" as we read often here. Why, of course, we're talking about a tool that's in good working order, not a defective one. That goes without saying. Advertisement Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Hi Vlad Soare, Take a look here 2024 marks 40 years of M6 and 70 years of M3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted September 3, 2024 Share #42 Posted September 3, 2024 Anyway, I'm interested in new film Ms if released for anniversary. In contrario, I would not buy them. I have already too many working tools ... I fear that new released M will (would) be made by the new "qualified" same persons who made the new film Ms * for many years. Old "tools" workers are not working anymore. ... I hope I'm wrong. * these film scratch things may just be "new Internet myths"
Vlad Soare Posted September 3, 2024 Share #43 Posted September 3, 2024 I'd only be interested in an M-A with no plastic parts whatsoever and single framelines. But hell will freeze over before we see anything like that, so my money is completely safe.

There will always be naysayers and issues. They always attract comment. Try measuring how many successful and good reports about any tool and you will be disappointed. Nobody bothers or needs to report success. Only bad experiences get the press. As a long term M film camera user, professionally speaking, ie. earning my living from them, I am supremely impressed with the overall performance of Leica M cameras. Yes, I have had some issues, but so I have also had with Nikon and Hasselblad. That does not make them bad. Indeed their resilience beyond the problems is what impresses me.
Vlad Soare Posted October 24, 2024 Share #45 Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) Well, we've got our answer. It's gonna be a platinum-plated M-A, limited to 250 pieces. Meh... 🥱 Edited October 24, 2024 by Vlad Soare
a.noctilux Posted October 24, 2024 Share #46 Posted October 24, 2024 Nice 70 th anniversary model M-A and very good choice of Apo-Summicron-M 50mm plus rapid winder, canister. In real life use I'd add rewind crank.
