wouldn't give a lens away if you like it and permanently use it. instead of i would start with some of the 35mm budget options, there are plenty very good ones out there.

was the same for me, this thread pushed me over the edge to buy this lens and i couldn't be more happy. how is this not the best advertising ever for such a high priced used product? 😅

Street Photography in Prague with the summilux-m 35mm preAsph on the LeicaCL. On HP5 pushed to 1600 iso.

I'm fine with customizing and dig the many options out there, But selling self made top and bottom covers are simply product piracy for me. I wouldn't want to be the customer who buys a used M and get a cam with god knows what quality fake parts.

I asked them last autumn and they say they can customize the mp, they take the original top and paint them in black chrome instead of black paint, it would coust about 1000 EUR and takes 6 months (back then, now its surely more, 9 or so)

maybe mine is well calibrated, but i never misfocused either with the 40 or the 90mm wide open. But for wider lenses i use my M6, which is way way way better to focus

Nun ja. Nach einer Weile bin ich da anderer Meinung. Der Leica Händler hat mir zu einer neuen geraten und ich dachte "klar, der will ja umsatz machen." Aber er hatte gute Argumente. Ich hatte erst eine sehr günstige M4_P von einem anderen Händler gekauft, Funktion wurde zugesichert und ich dachte das selbe, Haufen Geld für Objektive und Film gespart. Am selben Tag blieb der Verschluss bei 1/30 hängen. Am nächsten Tag zurück gegeben, habe aber über 1 Monat auf mein Geld gewartet... Zum zweiten Händler, der zur neuen riet, mir aber auch gerne eine M6 classic verkaufte, ebenfalls mit zugesicherter Funktion. Kamera top Zustand, sauber und gepflegt, 2,5k hingelegt in der Hoffnung dass dann gut ist. War es auch, für 4 Monate, Zeiten bei 1/1000 fingen an unregelmäßig zu belichten. In den sauren Apfel gebissen und der Kamera mit neuem MP Sucher den ich eigentlich haben wollte komplette CLA bei Leica spendiert für ncohmal 1,5k, inzwischen bereue ich aber nicht doch eine neue gekauft zu haben und hoffe das jetzt wirklich gut ist für die nächsten 5-10 Jahre. immerhin wenigstens 1 Objektiv von der Differenz noch erspart...

yes, the minolta cle. but the leica cl also has additionaly 50mm framelines, (and no 28mm)

I never thought I would love the specific rendering of a lens so much then from the preAsph summilux, I have the feeling, that in certain situations it can ad the final finish to the image so it really becomes special

I would like to understand the technical aspects of my camera more detailed - is there any "How it works" illustration or video animation out there about the Leica M mechanism? Something like an animated exploded drawing or see-through view that explains the mechanic components of the Leica M and how they work together in detail. Would really appreciate any hint!

This one's not really to show the excellent quality of the Elmarit-M 90/2.8 as the shutter curtain on my M6 started to make problems on this trip, which resulted in underexposed and uneven lit pictures on my last 2 rolls. Anyways, alltough many pictures were rendered unuseable, to some it added atmosphere and enhanced the magic of Venice.

habe ich leider ganz andere erfahrungen gemacht. lustlose verkäufer wenn man sich für gebrauchte interessiert, und hatten mehrere M mit kaputten verschlussvorhängen als funktionierend angeboten, eine davon leider auch an mich verkauft. rückwicklung dauerte über einen monat, vertrauen in leica händler erst in der maffaistrasse bei herrn uhl zurück gewonnen. nirgends ehrlicher und aufrichtiger beraten worden.

got my 90s summilux few days before new year and so very happy with it. focus is a little bit stiff, but i hope that will losen up the more i use it
