Just got my Q3 today and noticed the Leica red dot is misaligned and not level by a small but noticeable amount. I know these are hand assembled, but for a $9k CAD camera, you’d think there would be a bit better attention to detail. Anyone else have this cosmetic issue on their Q3?

Some people would pay extra for that — like a postage stamp with a fault! Seriously, my red dot is level, but I hadnt even looked at it before reading your complaint. I am sure Leica will fix this if you complain.

Yes it is glued but unless Leica has changed their methods, the glue is not hard setting.  Think rubber cement type of adhesive.  Warming it a bit with your thumb, provided your hands aren't cold, you should be able to rotate it slightly as @jaapv suggested.  I did the same on a Q that I purchased some time back.

This is a terrible photo but I had to box it back up as it’s a present for my partner. The “e” is below the break line and the “a” is above.

That is how it should be.

I just checked. All red dots I could find right now had a tilt upwards, varying from nearly invisible to SrMi’s pronounced one. R8, X2, SL, CL, etc.. Not one tilted to the left and the only one straight is my M6, which has a black dot which  I put on myself.

Il y a 6 heures, SrMi a dit :

Je pense qu'une bûche légèrement inclinée n'est que la preuve que les humains ont assemblé la caméra et non les machines :).

This shows that each Q3 is personalized. It's better not to change anything.

My Q2 Reporter doesn't have a red dot, nor does my MP or M4.
My SL2-S does and......

.......

drum roll.

.....

it looks exactly the same as the OP's*.

This is the biggest scandal to hit Leica in a century.

*Edit. Am I allowed to be nitpicky back? That is a terrible photo of the red dot, both in image quality and as evidence that there is anything wrong at all.
