You ask in this section of the forum and you'll get M10-R. Ask in the M11 forum and you'll get M11. Personally, I'll probably never move beyond the M10-R as I could care less about all the electronic bells and whistles (and freezes and stapler shutter) of the 11. I guess it depends on your needs, as well as what you can do with the extra grand.

I faced your dilemma, though I was adding a camera to my existing M10.

I was very satisfied with the M10 and to that point, felt M10 was the quint essential M for me. I toyed with the idea of a M11-P for an up coming project, but was disappointed with the release spec and on going issues with the series. I opted for a new M10-R, love the shutter, files have a nice elasticity. But given the value the NOS is at the moment, the M10-R is cheaper than the M10 was back in 2017.

I really didn't need the resolution, the 24mp was enough, but I've got to say, the subtle refinements, yet so familiar, an absolute joy to use.

So I guess I'm one of those Charles is talking about. I agree fully with his view also.

M10R. Use the remaining $1000 on two Voigtlander lenses in focal lengths you don’t have.

? I’d say that a used M11 is cheaper than a brand new M10-R. But maybe that’s just me.

i would never want a sony sensor in a leica!

Then you have a real problem. Sony is a regular supplier of sensors to Leica. Has been since 2004.

okey guys, I got the m10r new, I have the tax refound so it was a good deal, thanks all for the information. The magic is in the eyes, not in the camera, neither the sensor.

Best regards all
