Surreal waiting times for lens repair and maintenance at Leica Germany

Seeing this post is over a year old now I was genuinely wondering - did Leica actually ever adress this issue in the meantime, I mean publically?
Was there any kind of explaination or statement in regards to the waiting times at all?

I guess not.. but it boggles the mind how they can apparently just sit there and shrug their shoulders, saying "well you just gotta wait a couple months".
Truly feel sorry for the people at Leica HQ that have to communicate with all the frustrated customers on a daily basis.

Today, I picked up my Leica MP from the Leica Store Stuttgart. It had been in Wetzlar for repairs for almost exactly 12 months. Bad enough. But there are explanations for the problem: In October, I visited Wetzlar and took a tour of the production and service areas. Contrary to what many might imagine, it’s still  a manufactory, not a mass production.

And this manufactory has, over the past few years, faced several mutually reinforcing problems, not all of which were foreseeable: a shortage of skilled workers, exacerbated by Covid, a wave of retirements, the long training period required for this specialized field, the lack of willingness among young people to work in a small provincial town, and, on top of all that, an unexpected renaissance of analog photography, resulting in the service department being overwhelmed with Grandpa’s old Leicas.

I didn’t get the impression that anyone there was shrugging their shoulders about the situation, but rather that everything possible is being done to get the problem under control. On picking up my serviced MP today, Leica Stuttgart told me that the waiting time for analog bodies is down from 12 month to half a year. They are training and even calling back senior technicians from retirement...

We´ll see.

Still waiting to see the paragraph saying

As mentioned before:

Zitat

Prerequisite for placing a photo is that it has been made with Leica ir L-Mount equipment and/or has a strong relationship to a Leica subject.

„Strong relationship“ means photos of Leica equipment or images which are relevant to a discussion.

AI images do not fit this definition.

The fact that I'm running a completely different forum about AI Images doesn't imply the right to post AI images here.

No AI images in the Leica Forum. Full stop.

@LUF Admin You need to beef up your definition and specify this in the rules, otherwise you are in cotradiction of the current written AGB, as the Germans say.

@LUF Admin You need to beef up your definition and specify this in the rules, otherwise you will not be taken seriously.

Sea-lawyer proof them?

All the off topic content was deleted as not relevant for the discussion („Waiting times“ as a reminder). Posts by other members (including a moderator) were hidden too,

Come on. The rules are clear (and I quoted them). Only Leica (or L-Mount) images in the Leica Forum. I already clarified this.

Do you want to lecture me (as a Gerrrrrman, always keeping strictly to the rules) how to define rules and how to enforce them?
