fenykepesz Posted October 29, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) just saw this fake 'review' on the web - offered via google - about the Leica M11-P : the content is pretty wrong and incorrect such as "stealthier shutter", "40MP sensor" and "autofocus" and more... it looks to me as if some stupid (ro)bot got it quite wrong while merging various web sources about cameras : medium.com review about M11-P did anybody else see such ? 1

idusidusi Posted October 29, 2023 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Sounds like an AI stunt but at least it got the title of the camera correct. Edited October 29, 2023 by idusidusi

darylgo Posted October 29, 2023 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2023 I love this part: "with no noticeable gaps or creaks". Couldn't read any further, it was too painful.

Indeed that could apply to virtually all modern cameras of the last few decades.

I have some Nikon lenses with af (that) squeaks but I haven't had the pleasure of a camera as you say. Perhaps a Holga? For those that want the answer 😁
hdmesa Posted October 29, 2023 Share #7 Posted October 29, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Google should offer a filter for search results that omits AI-written articles. The AI Google has should be powerful enough to detect AI articles at the same time as the URL is crawled by their bots. Their AI will probably always be a step ahead of what is available to the average user.

evikne Posted October 29, 2023 Share #12 Posted October 29, 2023 Why haven't any other reviews mentioned that the M11-P now has a fast autofocus system? I need to order one immediately! 😄
davidmknoble Posted October 29, 2023 Share #13 Posted October 29, 2023 Even the photograph of the author - vincent Vega - looks like AI. Probably an ai generated blog to get traffic and then get ad revenue….
lucerne Posted October 29, 2023 Share #14 Posted October 29, 2023 Vincent Vega was one of the three protagonists (alongside Jules Winnfield and Butch Coolidge) of Quentin Tarantino's 2nd film Pulp Fiction.

You beat me to it. And the fake photo. When you click on his 'about' page, it lists skills and work history. But I suspect he is fake. The article to so obviously fake. Some people might call this FRAUD. I had recently read something I liked on Medium and was considering subscribing. Not any more (though I'm going to write to them to ask that they prove 'Vincent Vega' is real, and that he physically received a copy of the M11-P for review, since the review states 'I’ve always loved taking photos, but it wasn’t until I got my hands on a Leica M11-P that I genuinely fell in love with photography.', and 'Here are some specific examples of how the Leica M11-P has improved my photography:', etc... And what does Medium have to say on its About Us page? The opening line is 'Medium is a home for human stories and ideas.' If they reply I will update this thread.
Anbaric Posted October 30, 2023 Share #17 Posted October 30, 2023 I always wait for a review from a reliable source. I expect Ikanagas will get to this model soon. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=ULjAwiqufPE 1

This sort of garbage is even commoner for more mainstream cameras. I pity the new purchaser of a Nikon mirrorless looking for an instruction book for their camera on Amazon. This one doesn't just have the usual dead filler prose, but some particularly bizarre AI renderings of the camera: https://www.amazon.co.uk/NIKON-Z9-CAMERA-GUIDE-Beginner-ebook/dp/B0C33X31BQ This one would get points for a creative title if it hadn't been brainlessly plagiarised from a review (like most of the text in the Kindle preview): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-Z9-Guide-beginner-Absolute/dp/B0B9QS5216 And they charge money for this stuff. Warton Posted October 31, 2023 Share #20 Posted October 31, 2023 As soon as I see "expensive" or "manual focus only" being listed as con's of M's, I instantly walked away from those reviews.
