Advertisement Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Hi LUF Admin, Take a look here Leica M11 Firmware V 2.0.1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wdahab Posted October 26, 2023 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2023 Very curious what "Function Extended Dynamic Range" means in practice (when I'm done at work I'll definitely be checking that out). Is it an JPEG-only equivalent of Fuji's DR400? Or is it available in DNG's to actually help provide more DR either in the default rendering or in recovery? hmzimelka Posted October 26, 2023 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2023 5 minutes of going through the camera menu with new firmware, I get error, "Battery Empty" on a battery with 85% charge. Great start! 1

RMF Posted October 26, 2023 Share #6 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Looking at the v.2.0.1 release notes they highlight a rare case issue with UHS-1 cards and advice to use UHS-2…was this always the guidance in the past? Also I wish they were a bit more transparent about what I circled (in blue) Welcome, dear visitor! Photoworks Posted October 26, 2023 Share #8 Posted October 26, 2023 I am a little disappointed in the Tethering option. with the update, you have to choose the option tethering, and a warning comes up that the images will not be saved to SD or IN. the other options are Apple MFi and PTP if you are not connected the camera warns of no connection and does not shoot. Sometimes during a shoot I would unplug the camera and keep shooting to the card, this is no longer an option. You need to go into the camera and turn it OFF To me functionality has been brocken.

Great start! I haven't seen the error on camera yet, but noticed in the Fotos app (everything up to date) that my M11 looks like it has an almost empty battery despite it also being over 80%. The Quick Remote option kept toggling to enabled/disabled, but I could use it so it did work.

Can you not still use it tethered without the tethering option? I was already able to use mine tethered without this update and I believe in that case it also saved to camera storage - but it's been a while since I've played around with that and I might be mistaken. But it could be interesting to see if that still works without setting the USB mode to Tethering.

My M11 is updated with this newest firmware, USB mode is set to PTP, I connect it with USB-C cable to my MacBook Air and in CaptureOne could use the LiveView to preview and capture photos. They appear in my CaptureOne session and they are stored on my SD card as well.

I thought I deleted the image immediately as it was a quick test image but it wasn't in trash and trying it again it is indeed as you describe. I don't really tether often except when I'm being playful so I'm not too familiar with the workflow. Shame that it works like this though, I agree. Wonder if there's a technical reason behind this

hmzimelka Posted October 26, 2023 Share #18 Posted October 26, 2023 Live View with Lightroom Classic not working for me.... Is this a new feature in 2.0.1? The custom function buttons can now be programmed with a "Centre Frame" option that resets the LV cursor back to centre screen.
Warton Posted October 26, 2023 Share #19 Posted October 26, 2023 I will let the dust settled down for a couple of months before upgrading to 2.1 Not even mentioning those "new" features are useless to me.
