elgenper Posted October 24, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since a couple of weeks or so, every single time I visit the Leica Forum, I am met with a popup asking me to state my cookie preferences (see image; this time it happened to be in German; usually it is the English version). It is slowly driving me bananas; LF is one of my favourite haunts on the web, but now I´m on the verge of leaving, despite several years of positive experiences. I get correctly identified as user, just as I´ve registered, only it keeps pestering me all the time about this. My cookie preferences are simple: no d-mn cookies for me, please! And, don´t try to punish me for it in this way, p-u-l-e-e-z-e!!! Just remember it, will you? And yes, I´ve tried allowing functional cookies, just to see if they might help to avert this barrage; they don´t! Welcome, dear visitor! Gibbo Posted October 24, 2023 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2023 And it comes up on every device you use.
andybarton Posted October 24, 2023 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2023 I had this once today and I have used three different devices. It's usually a database thing, but I am sure that @LUF Admin can advise.
pop Posted October 24, 2023 Share #4 Posted October 24, 2023 I have those notices on my two computers several times a day. I always decline whatever can be declined, but the blessed thing keeps on asking. I think the software is just broken and should be mended.
gotium Posted October 24, 2023 Share #5 Posted October 24, 2023 Oh yes I agree, quite tedious.
250swb Posted October 24, 2023 Share #6 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) I'm getting this all the time now 'Accept Cookies' or whatever it is in German. Something is either broken or it's a new policy to grind the nuts of people 😄 Edited October 24, 2023 by 250swb
Pyrogallol Posted October 25, 2023 Share #7 Posted October 25, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) It happened once yesterday, in German, but usually only once after I have cleared my browsing history, then it doesnot appear until after I clear the history again. NigelG Posted October 25, 2023 Share #8 Posted October 25, 2023 (edited) I find it constantly happens on websites where I have denied cookies - looking at you HSBC & First Direct (every time I go to log in) as an example. I get the cookie setting pane on the forum once a day on every device 🙄 Edited October 25, 2023 by NigelG
masjah Posted October 25, 2023 Share #9 Posted October 25, 2023 I got the German one a few days ago, and responded. Since then (touch wood) I haven't been bothered.
jrp Posted November 3, 2023 Share #10 Posted November 3, 2023 I assume that the issue is that the advertisers et al change and, every time they do so, the forum wants to give you the opportunity to share your data with the new roster.
earleygallery Posted November 4, 2023 Share #11 Posted November 4, 2023 I always accept cookies but I still haven't received any, grrrrr!!!
