Why, oh why can´t this forum just REMEMBER my Cookie preferences, once and for all?

Since a couple of weeks or so, every single time I visit the Leica Forum, I am met with a popup asking me to state my cookie preferences (see image; this time it happened to be in German; usually it is the English version).  It is slowly driving me bananas; LF is one of my favourite haunts on the web, but now I´m on the verge of leaving, despite several years of positive experiences.

I get correctly identified as user, just as I´ve registered, only it keeps pestering me all the time about this.  My cookie preferences are simple: no d-mn cookies for me, please! And, don´t try to punish me for it in this way, p-u-l-e-e-z-e!!!  Just remember it, will you?

And yes, I´ve tried allowing functional cookies, just to see if they might help to avert this barrage; they don´t!

I have those notices on my two computers several times a day. I always decline whatever can be declined, but the blessed thing keeps on asking. I think the software is just broken and should be mended.

I find it constantly happens on websites where I have denied cookies - looking at you HSBC & First Direct (every time I go to log in) as an example.

I get the cookie setting pane on the forum once a day on every device 🙄
