Dear all,

As a wildlife- and Bird photographer I am considering to purchase a 1.4 converter to my 100-400mm lens for the SL2-S.

Since the Sigma and Leica converters are showing a high price difference I am wondering whether any advise regarding which one to buy can be advised.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Good question. Is your 100-400 the Sigma branded lens or the Leica rebranded lens? I don`t think it makes much difference, though.

The Sigma appears to be the same optical formula and similar in other ways as well, as does the Lumix counterpart.  All are made in Japan.

When I had the SL 100-400mm I used the Leica 1.4X with it, with disappointing results.  I got better results with a Sigma TC-2011, but it did not show up in EXIF data, where only the lens info was recorded.  I didn't see any issues with stabilization.

Poor performance (both AF and optical) with the 1.4X on the SL2-S was what prompted me to ditch the lens.
