Just a reminder for those of us attending from the UK.

Leave plenty of time either at St Pancras, or to get through Nice airport.

I’ll stay in Old Town.

I would like to recommend a fantastic place for breakfast, it’s a tiny boulangerie but everything there is delicious 😉

I like good breads and croissants, so see you there.

It was a mistake for me to peek into this thread. The old wander lust is aroused! I remember a fabulous time I had as the guest of Yana Stein who invited me to stay with her in Monaco after the Wetzlar One Challenge in 2012. We travelled daily from Monaco, including to Nice where we had a great lunch at Il Vicoletto. See the pic of me by Jana, using my camera, enjoying Moules. Regrettable, Jana passed away not long after, but not before we had some fabulous photo experiences in and around Nice. Definitely focus on the Old City.

Regrettably, life does not permit me to join you all any more, but I know you will have a fabulous time.

Sorry to hear you can't come, Challenges are not the same without you. On the other hand, this takes out one very serious competitor :)

Just placing a wild idea in the room, we haven't done a long-distance challenge since 2019 and we know the way to Australia now...

Thanks Ravi and Stefan for the hotel information, however, they didn't have a double room available and there was no parking. Have booked a Best Western Hotel and will arrive on Thursday afternoon and leave on Sunday. Look forward to catching up with everyone in Nice.

Cheers, Tom

We are intending to combine this with our main annual holiday. We've booked a gite for two weeks (Sat to Sat with the Challenge in the middle weekend). We're taking the car over the ferry from Hull to Europoort (Rotterdam) splitting the drive  over 3 days, including an extra two days (so 3 nights) in Nancy on the way down.

Flights and hotel booked just now for Sonia and me.  Arrive midday Thursday and depart late afternoon Monday.

Look forward to catching up with old friends, and to meeting new ones!

Received a mail from Air France just now, they had already put down the dates 9 - 15 October in Nice, very nice 😀.
Well , what next ?
Right now I don't think I can do the trip.

Has been a couple of years since I've been able to attend a One Challenge (I think the last one was New York in 2019 - time flies!), so it's time to change that. Just booked my flight, arriving late on Thursday and departing on Sunday midday. Now to find a reasonable hotel.

Looking forward to seeing you all again!

  • andybarton changed the title to Call for dinner numbers: One Challenge Nice 2024

It’s that time of year again, friends. The One Challenge is looming just over the horizon - 12 weeks away (as of today 20/7).

Therefore, we need to think about where we might eat on the Saturday evening after the Challenge.

Can I have a show of hands for a place at the table, please, and we can then start to look for a suitable venue.

Thanks!
