No Visoflex or Leica fotos. It would have been nice to see the same ethos applied to the slimmer more modern designs that have followed. I fully agree, that would be the very best!
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Hi evikne, Take a look here M11-D?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

I think I would enjoy any of the previous iterations for the shooting experience, I'm not the biggest fan of higher resolution digital cameras and have just sold my m10r as all my lenses just looked too 'digital' for me on there, even my soft vintage ones that I enjoy the most. If I see a good deal, I'll pick one up. Have you tried the lower resolution DNGs on the M11 variants? - for some subjects like portraits, I find the 18mp DNG-S to be very preferable in order to take out the “digitalness” of the rendering. For portraits in prints to c 30” wide, I very much enjoy the look I get from 18mp DNG-S and 50mm v5 (and use of grain in ACR) ….. much more than when using the full 60mp, the latter seems to add more acutance into the image that I don’t want for a more filmic and softer photo of someone’s face.

Hi Jon, no, I haven’t. If truth be told, I’ve only shot with the m11 briefly and the majority of my experience with a high mp Leica has been with the m10r. I would like to try out the lower mp setting but I also know that I enjoy restriction with my photography so having the choice of 3 resolutions may not work for me. I’d be very interested to see some examples of 18mp shots, especially portraits if you have any posted anywhere.

algrove Posted September 11, 2024 Share #566 Posted September 11, 2024 Why get an M11D when you can get an M11P and just turn the LCD brightness to lowest setting so that there is no visible data on LCD.

Robert Blanko Posted September 11, 2024 Share #568 Posted September 11, 2024 By the way, is there any information whether the M11-D will have the content authentication as does the M11-P?

algrove Posted September 11, 2024 Share #570 Posted September 11, 2024 (edited) The best reason to get the M11D is that when someone does not like you taking their picture and wants you to erase their image, you can say it's a film camera.😘 Edited September 11, 2024 by algrove 1

Good reason to have a leather case that covers the LCD if not using an M11D.

I even made a mock-up image which I attached. It would absolutely have been THE fundamental dream camera, independent of any power source - after all, that is what the purists have in mind when they set out to get the D... Welcome, dear visitor! dsetiono01 Posted September 12, 2024 Share #578 Posted September 12, 2024 Not sure if this has been covered/ discussed before, but will the m11-d feature the same Sensor Metering mechanism like the rest of the M11 Family? In other words, will the sensor will be exposed whenever the camera is on? Did they change anything to the shutter mechanism? Because this is one of the deal breaker for me upgrading to the m11 family, the sensor open-close-open-close and open again flow is just crazy!

The M11-D is effectively the M11-P with no rear screen and the controls moved around somewhat. Edited September 12, 2024 by frankchn
