You can listen it here: https://podcasts.apple.com/de/podcast/leica-enthusiast-podcast-fotopodcast-mit-michel-birnbacher/id1471816536?i=1000532982709 if you do not unterstand, here is what he said (Copied from the automatic generates transcript of the podcast): Zitat “Was ja auch ein Gerücht war oder ein Wunsch manchmal war, dass die M10D hat ja einen Aufzughebel, also quasi die Daumenstütze in Form eines klassischen Filmspannhebels, der aber tot ist. Also der ist nur dazu da, um den Daumen zu halten. Da war ja eine Zeit lang die Gerüchte und Ideen, dass man den ja als Dynamo verwenden könnte, also zweimal Ratsch und dann kann ich ein Foto machen und brauch dafür nie wieder eine Batterie.” Von Leica Enthusiast Podcast - Fotopodcast mit Michel Birnbacher: Gespräch mit Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, 24. Zitat “What was also a rumor or a wish sometimes was that the M10D had a winding lever, so to speak a thumb rest in the form of a classic film tension lever, but it is dead. So it's just there to hold your thumb. For a while there were rumors and ideas that it could be used as a dynamo, so two ratchets and then I can take a photo and never need a battery again.”

darlesch Posted May 19, 2024 Share #230 Posted May 19, 2024 I predict the release was delayed a month because there is a new firmware update coming within the next month to fix the freezing issues.

It's a shame, but this shows that Leica has taken the problem seriously this time and wants to restore its tarnished reputation by releasing a high-quality, lag-free product. This actually means official recognition of the problem. I love this honest Leica more.

costa43 Posted May 19, 2024 Share #233 Posted May 19, 2024 (edited) I doubt this will be black paint. Leica will surely keep that in the locker to clear out the remaining stock of m11s before the m12 is released. edit : thinking about it, two black paint cameras could happen as this one is a specific enough design to differentiate from the standard model. This actually means official recognition of the problem. I love this honest Leica more. I think a screenless, freezing M11 camera would be quite a story. A Reddit user was in contact with a higher up Leica spokesperson who said a new firmware update is coming "within the month" to address the uptick in freezing issues with FW 2.02. Couple this with the news that LeicaRumors said the M11-D is delayed to June... it makes sense what is going on. Keep in mind all the M11-D cameras are already manufactured, boxed, and ready to go (for example an M11-P bought on release showed manufacture date that was months prior to release). A delay at this point is not because of production but likely firmware related.

Didn’t come out of the box ready. Edited May 19, 2024 by darlesch

I asked my dealer. A new Monochrom is just shy of NZ$18,000 now. He suggested any special editions etc of the 11 would exceed $20,000 and the 12 might too. At that point, they officially become stupidly expensive. IMO.
