There's an old tradition in the East End of London for both men and women to dress up in clothes heavily embroidered with pearls usually to do with a charitable fund-raising.  This young woman gives us a modern twist on an old and fun custom.

A 'modern day' Pearly Queen? A lovely picture and a nice new perspective on an old theme, David.

Pete.

Thanks Pete, sometimes I find that one likes a portrait because of the overall effect and impact.  Since pos, I’ve become much more aware of the subtle difference between the background and the hair, plus the dark eyes and eyebrows are playing a subtle but important role as are the brooch and button.
