Lelmer Posted August 20, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 20, 2023 Both portraits would be great without the spotlight being directly visible...too strong and disturbing for me.
benqui Posted August 21, 2023 Share #6 Posted August 21, 2023 I always like the way how you use the light to create really a wonderful mood!
Dantist Posted August 21, 2023 Share #7 Posted August 21, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I hope you will understand I want to be constructive and positive Due to the spotlight straight towards the sensor, you could shut the diaphragm (yes !) to gain details in the hair after the eyes (DOF). Here you have a good focus on the sleeve, but useless. You might correct the gamma to get rid of the orange tone on her face. What is the color of her eyes ? Just my two cents, because I am sure these views deserve it 👋
Marc B-C Posted August 22, 2023 Share #8 Posted August 22, 2023 I like these just as the are. Great use of the lighting and something different for a change.

Just my two cents, because I am sure these views deserve it 👋 Thank you both for giving time to respond to the photos, @Lelmer for some it was disturbing but at the time i took these photos that was what i intended to capture, but mind you i have some others which the spotlight was well hidden @Dantist thank you, whenever i have the chance i would always shot it widest open, i always prefer the looks of it, hence the noctilux, but i have some other shots which when i used the apo summicron and stopped down f2.8 to get more DOF, i might post it some other time what came to mind when i posted these, was because in my point of view, these were the finest out of the bunch On 8/22/2023 at 4:21 AM, benqui said: I always like the way how you use the light to create really a wonderful mood! Thank’s mate, we all learnt a lot from the community, might not be the best place, but you are one of few whom always inspired my portraits photography 6 hours ago, Marc B-C said: I like these just as the are.
