Hi,

I have the 3,5 L Wotancraft and the bigger one (about 7 L).

The big one ist good for SL2S and Q at the same time or to do a job with some more equipment.

The 3,5 has Space for the Q3 fully equipped with accessories plus mobile phones, AirPods and some small items like battery’s and stuff.
Also it is possible to attach a shoulder strap and stuff it with the camera inside.

I use also the artisan 75 sleeve to l put the Q into a backpack without thinking of scratching etc.

However I will have a look on the 2 L Wotancraft or similar bag to carry only a mobile phone (iPhone mini) the Q and one battery…

So, as you see, the Q fits easily into the 3,5 L.

I originally bought it for my SL2S, as you can see.
Even with the 24-70 and attached Lenshood from the 24-90 it fits (stiff). It tits easy for SL2S plus Noctilux 50mm.

So again: I recommend a smaller Bag for the Q.

I agree that it’s snug, and if you have lots of extras on the camera it will be very snug.  But for just the camera, half case, strap and original lens hood it’s fine. I removed the divider since I don’t need it. The front pocket holds my spare battery and sd cards in a small pouch. The back zip pocket holds wipes and a lens cloth. If you want to carry more then the 3.5L will be great. Horses for courses.

Your "kit" is what I commented previously I began to use.  However I was putting the battery in my pocket.  I tried it in the front pocket this morning and for me it sticks out just just a little too much.  As you say, Horses for courses!😁  BTW, that saying over the years has caused me to spend more $$$ on gear than I should have.  For example, yesterday evening I had an unexpected visitor land on the balcony just behind where I was sitting (I was inside next to the glass sliding door).  It was a beautiful red tailed hawk and a big one. I quickly got out my "horses for courses" light tele/cam combo of an X-H2/70-300 and shot away.  Already mounted and set up for this, it was easy to get the shot.  You should see my kit at events! 😁

When buying Wotancraft bags, keep in mind that they have rather short straps that are not designed for a tall person. My height is 190 cm and the length of the strap is a little short for me

I've ordered several bags from Wotancraft over the years. I'm tall (and some say big) - exchanged messages with Wotancraft when ordering - they have lengthened straps for me on several bags. No problem - just talk to them. Great bags!`

@OldMan I received my Black 2L a few days ago as well, and I love it! After trying out other small bags for my Q3 with the IDS plate/grip attached, this was the one. Finally!

Along with the Q3 and grip, I have just enough room to use the divider to fit a spare battery, and a small case with some filters. On the rear zipper pocket is my extra memory card. Front pocket is empty for now. I love the adjustable strap and magnetic buckle.

I feel very fortunate to have come across your post and discover such a great bag for the price, features, and craftsmanship, so, thank you again. Such a great value.

I had the Wotancraft 2L. bag for my Q2 and it was a snug fit.  As someone else mentioned, putting the spare battery in the front pocket created a little bulge that was kind of esthetically not pleasing.

Anyway, my bag got stolen while I was at Machu Picchu last month.  Luckily the camera was in my hand at the time, so I just lost the 2l. bag, two batteries and an extra 512gb SD card.  Having to replace the bag, I bought the 3.5L. instead.  It's not that much bigger, but I now have room to put things like my smart phone, batteries and even my Leica SF40 flash in it if needed be.  The 2L. is a very nice snug fit for the Q2 but not much else.  Even though you can use the divider to separate a little compartment for other things, that makes putting in and removing the camera much harder.

I am very happy with the 3.5L. with my Q3 (just upgraded).

Will the 3.5L fit a Q with an iPad mini.

I have a 7L that holds my Q, a small iPad, 2 batteries and some cables with room to spare if I need it.  The Q itself is actually in a ThinkTag bag that can come in and out of the Wotan depending on how light I want to be.

I like to be able to carry the iPad mini and don’t need all the other stuff but can’t tell if it will go into the 3.5L

On their website they show an A7 with the 24-70 stuffed in there. So I assume the iPad Mini should fit.

Can someone with the 2L  bag show a picture of the bag on their back? Hard to wrap my head around how small this bag actually is. Thank you in advance!

It's not big. I own both the 2L & 3.5L Pilot Bags, and only use the 2L with my Leica CL and a lens fitted, plus a couple of batteries and spare SD Card. At a pinch I could throw in a small lens too.  I actually like the 2L design better than the 3.5L. The smaller bag has a pouch on front and zipper on the back, whereas the 3.5L has zippers front and back.

Can't help with picture of 2L bag on back, but there are reviews on You Tube that may help. Scroll through the pics on this link below and you'll see one being carried on the hip and back.

It is great. I don't have images to share but you can scroll up and will see others have posted some already. I have the same combo, Q3, IDS Grip and 2L Bag. I have a 10k mAh battery and a USB-C cable in there as well. The camera is a bit hard to get out of the bag with all the extras stuffed in there. But it's manageable.

This bag does seem very cool and well designed.

I have a Lim half-case that probably adds somewhere about 1/2” to the height of the camera. I also have a thumb support (but I don’t think that would affect the fit).

Is there enough “give” to the bag to accommodate the Lim half case and my Q3?  Any opinions how that would work with the 2L bag?

Thank you.

Cool bag! Thanks for sharing photos! Might be perfect for Q2 Reporter.
For me, I'd need just a little more space for keys, wallet, phone and sunglasses case.

The 3,5l is perfect for a Q and some other essentials: keys, wallet, phone, sunglasses, spare battery and sometimes an iPad mini as well.
