Le Chef Posted December 4, 2023 Share #45 Posted December 4, 2023 Mine ordered at the end of September, arrived today. Faster than anticipated. Apparently Leica and dealers are realizing that a lot of the pipeline was duplicate orders. Those are being winnowed out so the list is getting shorter.

The Leica UK online store does get stock more frequently than a couple of months ago but other stores seem to get a very small number of units that sell quickly and have to wait for another allocation. jaapv Posted April 9, 2024 Share #53 Posted April 9, 2024 I haven’t seen out of stock notices for weeks now and Amazon always seems to have a decent number available. But that is for continental Europe. I have no idea what is happening at UK customs

Leica UK is currently showing the standard 2-5 day delivery for a Q3. There is no shortage.
JonathanJ Posted April 9, 2024 Share #55 Posted April 9, 2024 I am sorry if this seems a bit of a basic question, but…. Is there an advantage of buying the Q3 through a Leica dealer? When I bought my Q2, I purchased it on Amazon—I guess a “gray market”. But, is there an advantage of buying it from a Leica store, vs simply a Leica authorized dealer (like B & H)? I sort of hoped to buy it this time from an actual Leica store, but I just don’t know if it is worth the wait. Thanks! I am in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. In some cases, you have some bargaining room with a Leica authorized dealer. I bought Q and Q2 with Roberts Camera and got some discount. I was not first on line, but getting up to 10% off was worth the wait. With B&H, you can be sure of getting a new copy with full return period. Also, they offer no sales tax with their Payboo Card. That alone is better than Amazon and its third parties.

That’s good to know. I guess I didn’t think there would be any bargaining room because the Q3 is in such demand
jaapv Posted April 9, 2024 Share #58 Posted April 9, 2024 The support of a regular dealer is always an advantage. Being a regular customer is even better. However, in most places the bargaining room is nil. He might throw something like a filter or a couple of cards.

You come in with your camera…are having issues or just don’t understand its workings. If you bought the camera from us we will bend over backwards to help you. If you are from out of town but bought it at a dealer…we will bend over backwards. If you bought it from Amazon to save a few bucks…we’ll help you just enough to get you on your way…and possibly charge you a service fee. We are very loyal and helpful to our customers (including you may receive discounts). But it is a two way street.
