So i've notice a weird colored line on 2 photos out of about 3000 taken so far. Anyone have any similar issues? Nothing major as it only happened twice during the same session. Didnt repeat after that.

This is true. It is only in „iAF“ and it’s quite disturbing!

I only tried the camera out for a short while in Leica Mayfair but immediately noticed this as continuous lock on AF that equals my Sony's was something I was looking for in the Q3. I don't think this is a bug but just a way the  AF performs. Of course I maybe wrong

The most noticeable freeze in when  shutting down the Q3...the red Leica logo just sits there on the screen and never really turns the camera off.  I had two or three other freezes but will have to pay more attention to the situations in which they occur.  Changing SD cards makes no difference at all...from Sandisk Extreme Pro 300MB/s SDXC 10 to Lexar 2000x 300MB/s V90.

Still a great camera...they'll fix it!!

I have to mention two bugs:

  • Bug #1: I put the perspective correction on FN 2 for the street. That works fine. If I have activated the person recognition, it also works, but only once. Then it can either no longer be deactivated or can no longer be activated after deactivation. The only remaining solution is to activate the corresponding favorite again. This doesn't happen all the time I do so but some
  • Bug #2: When scrolling through the users on the status screen, it almost always gets stuck on the first user. If I wanted to select this, it freezes for quite a while and no button can change that. If I want to scroll beyond this to others, it won't let me and gets stuck at the first user. The only option is to reserve one of the (compared to Q2 unfortunately reduced) lines of the favorites menu for the user-selection (I want to have my favorites on a single page) for the users.

Just my two cents:

-when the camera is left more than 10 minutes without a battery, it forgot the last user profile set---> need to re-select the correct user profile.

-auto-brightness for rear display completely unreliable

-EVF refresh rate it's a mess (120fps it's slower/worse than 60fps)

You guys will make me regret i ordered this camera 🥵 It will arrive next week..., i'm switching from a Sony A7IV, due of the lack of a 28mm prime with a GM quality, and because i'm looking for a camera lighter and smaller than the sony.

It will be my first leica, i've tried the q2 but i didn't liked it, especially for the autofocus, but the files were great.

I've tried the q3 for half an hour in the shop, the evf seemed fantastic to me and even the autofocus was great...but i've not tested it in "real life", hope every problem will be fixed via firmware...but i'm a bit disappointed since in every other cam, less expensive btw, i've never faced issues like these you are posting.

You'll be another firmware beta tester, it's good for speeding up the process through stable release!

Just kidding, trust me it's a great camera with some incomprehensible problems (for now!)

Without detracting from the problems these users seem to be having, a forum is a place where occasional technical glitches, user errors, disappointments, overblown expectations, unread manuals, individual camera faults  etc. collect in threads. It always this way when a new camera comes out. Comparing  the number of cameras sold to the number of specific complaints will put a perspective on the phenomen. These threads are quite useful for a camera maker as patterns may emerge.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know how many Q3 cameras have been sold until today, but i suppose many and many thousand and these problems are probably relative to a minimum percentage of cameras

For those who may run into similar issues:

1. Formatting my SD card did the trick. I still had photos taken with another camera on my SD card and it was evidently messing with the Leica Fotos app.

2 and 3. Changing to a faster SD card (now 300 MB/s, coming from 170) hasn't changed a thing. Camera still freezes every now and then, and still slow to boot after several jours of inactivity.

4 and 5. Nothing new there, but now i shoot in sAF because the absence of DoF preview in other modes is really bugging me. I sincerely hope they can improve the UX there.

For 3, I notice this on my Q2 when I haven’t used it for days/weeks. The initial switch on can take 3-5 secs, which is longer now that I have switched from a 300 MB/s to a 170 MB/s card. I haven’t noticed it being slow to wake up after it’s gone to sleep as I walk around but I haven’t been looking out for it - I wear the camera cross body and I just gently press the shutter release slightly and the camera is awake by the time it is at eye level to take the shot. Is that the same or worse for the Q3?

Solution 1. Save your user profiles (again)

explanation 2. Automatic display  brightness is controlled by an external sensor. Cover it with your finger and it won’t work.

Another point that at has been missed by some users it seems:

When using an SD card that has been used in another camera type always format the card.

Otherwise you may experience random errors and problems. This goes for all cameras of all brands.

We’re talking about bugs/freezes not users misuse

During the test phase we never encountered any freezing (or have I forgotten?). I suppose that this is generally good news. It might be that during your own testing now you do the most amazing things that you will not do in real life anymore. And we have to "accept" somehow in our days that software is very complex and many unexpected situations might occur. I am confident that Leica will fix whatever there is to be fixed. But I assume that I am not the typical user. I have an M11 and had maybe 2 to 3 freezes within 16 months by now. I would not have got aware of the freezing phenomenon if I had not read it here 😇

Hey, i think you forgot, that I reported several freezes. But most of the time it was while I was using the wireless charging grip.
But sometimes I had 3-4 freezes per day.
But as I have not used the release candidate I hoped that this was addressed. Maybe in fw update 1.2 or 1.3
