Krusty Posted March 12 Share #63 Posted March 12 Maybe somebody has already created a Lightroom preset which imitate the Leica looks so that the M11 owner also can use them for their DNG ?

If you haven't resolved this already and you are still interested, you might try checking your spam folder for the email with presets URL that should have come from info@robinschimko.com Subject: "Your Free Leica Looks Presets" Or, reach out to him directly via his contact form and let him know you never received the presets after singing up: https://www.robinschimko.com/contact Edited April 12 by LBJ2
Krusty Posted April 13 Share #70 Posted April 13 In the lates interview of the Leica Enthusiast Podcast Christoph Mueller (Leica M product manager) told, that a MAESTRO 4 processor is mandatory for integration the Leica Looks on the camera. Currently only the Q3 and SL-3 series have the MAESTRO 4 and the M11 has only MAESTRO 3. So it is not possible to integrate this on the M11... Just for you all as an information

Just for you all as an information One imagines that in reality the truth is probably more like ‘it was designed around the maestro 4 so it’s not possible without extra work on the maestro 3’. Let’s face it pretty much any camera processor of the last decade or even earlier is almost certainly capable of adding a simple LUT to a jpeg conversion. It is meant to present photography pure and to enable the users to express their photographic vision fully without the tool getting in the way. Although I admit that Leica is compromising on that philosophy with the M11, probably is forced to do so for competitive reasons. I would not call the M Leica’s flagship, both the Q and the SL are a flagship in their own class of camera as well. To me, a simulation, is like choosing a film reference, Tri-x, Portra, HP5. So, I don't think it is against the M11 philosophy. It would get it closer to an M6. What is the point of retouching everything in Lightroom if you can obtain something good out of camera. In Lightroom then you can push, pull or crop a bit. I think it is closer to film photography and purity.
