wish list is simple : just make a Q with L-mount. Simple I never ask for a third gen 28mm Q. How many times Leica expect us to buy the same camera again and again ?

Just let us change the damn lens. Please also make a bunch of compact lenses. Sony G and GM line up is embarrassingly small with superb IQ

Sigma fp-L ? Maybe ….
i would agree with you that I would love to have small Leica lenses for the sl.
And something like the Leica cl but with full frame.

i can only tell you how I see the q,q2,q3

its may wideangle , environmental portrait, landscape , street , long time exposure camera.

i use other cameras but this little beast is always with me.

So, we are doing the same thing

i wish to have a stabilized sensor.

And

pls can we get a real cable release….

does not have to be mechanic , but if we could trigger it with an cable release that gives impulse so that the camera gets released it would be great !
I know that there are all these other options, but sometimes it’s faster and easier to just use this cable release , plus it keeps you focused with the image.

You are right, Peter. I do not like that fake thread either. Its a real disgrace. And I want to add: Indeed I have a real cable relase for the M which I could use on the Q4

But unfortunately in real life I might have used it once or twice 🫢

I only have possibly three gripes that have arisen since switching from the Q2 to the Q3.

1.  The long boot time.

2.  The viewfinder blackout

I would have thought thevV4 processor would have been powerful enough to not have that happen.  If they can correct those things with firmware I would be very happy.

3. I miss the 1/40,000 sec shutter of the Q2.  Not that I used it that often, but when i needed to from a moving vehicle it worked well.  Maybe this is more bragging rights over my Nikon, but 1/40,000 is really cool and fast.

A new feature might be internal memory.  That would be nice but certainly not a necessity.

I do like to take a lot of low light and long exposure shots and the Q3 is miles ahead of the Q2 for those images, at least for what my skills are. I do not have to reach for my Nikon anymore for them unless I need something wider than 28 or longer than 90.

Anything else I would like would alter the camera so much it would not be a Q and I like the Q for what it does.  It is fun, easy to use, and takes remarkable photos.

Genoweffa, your proposal for the Q4 has already been achieved for the most part, it's called the Q2.  If we are going to define the next potential goal shouldn't we try out the current one first?

I will try and contribute as soon as I get my Q3 in hand and learn how to take advantage of this new version.

Thank you

Unless you shoot in low light most of the time.  Q3 is much better in that regard.  I sold my Q2 early on in favor of sticking with my SL2-S for higher ISOs.  Q3 isn't as good as the SL in that regard, but it's still significantly better than the Q2

Tru:

But I think that it opens the door to other photography projects that are now cumbersome.
And the door to other equipment you can use.

I am doing lighttrails and Timelapse and I would like to do Astro too.

but thanks for reminding me that sometimes it does not matter 😋

It's less of an issue with both LR and DxO PL AI-noise reduction. Gains about 2 stops of extra room at high ISO - makes my Q2 perfectly usable at 3200 and 6400 if I'm not so fussed about colour rendition. Previously I disliked going above 800.......

The Q3 is such a nice camera that the Q4 needs only a couple of things added to fine tune it:

15-800mm zoom lens, constant f/0.95 aperture.

Waterproof to a depth of 1000 feet.  If Rolex can do it, why not Leica?

Rocket launcher would be nice too!
maybe a landing gear if we fly to high.

Here I go:

1.  Internal memory would be nice with an SD slot.  500GB should do it with current configuration.

2.  Several folks mentioned preference for 35mm and/or 50mm.  So why not a zoom from about 28mm to 50mm with f2.0?

3.  I could do without the video, so remove all video related stuff thus allowing the incorporation of the rocket launcher mentioned earlier?

4.  Could do with a bigger shutter speed dial.  I find the current one a bit tricky to use while I am looking through the viewfinder.

Just my $0.02 worth.
