It works well, so why the need to change something that would add more expense and more bulk? If that’s what you’re looking for, then an SL3 might be a better choice for you. Because they are stuck in old technology and as I said before that IBIS should not require a larger camera body with present technology. The SL3 is definitely not what I consider portable, I would greatly prefer Hasselblad to it for a camera of similar size! Simone_DF Posted December 21, 2024 Share #163 Posted December 21, 2024 Cameras smaller than the Q have IBIS. OIS is ok-ish, but not that great compared to IBIS for 28 and 43mm. The reason why Leica went with OIS is because Panasonic didn’t have full frame IBIS tech. IBIS on a Leica was introduced on the SL2, and on a full frame Panasonic on the S1, in 2019, 4 years after the Q was launched

I would if Sony releases a RX1R II successor with a rumored curved sensor. So there is no Sony to buy at least this year!

Philip G Posted December 22, 2024 Share #168 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) ''twas ever thus Had there been social media outlets in 1925 I wonder how many Leica I owners might have speculated about a fixed wide angle lens instead of 50mm on the next model - or even suggested how great it would be if lenses could somehow be changed in future models! CharlieC Posted December 31, 2024 Share #169 Posted December 31, 2024 I have a first suggestion for an inclusion for the Q5. Reinstate the flip screen that was removed from the Q4 by public demand 😂 Happy New Year to all 🥳

Gabapentin Posted August 20 Share #171 Posted August 20 My wish would be to have a collapsible lens to improve portability in my coat vest! 60 MB sensor is plenty! Now with AI you can enlarge any lower MP files!

Collapsible lenses have some serious backdraws camera housing need to be bigger to fit the lens inside dust will be sucked in camera body as the lens "breath" when collapsing and extending, most of my compacts did that same breathing kan suck humidity and lens fungus spores inside with catastrophic effects probably difficult to keep Leica optical quality on a collapsible lens waterproofing One point that i love my Q2 is that she is dust and waterproof and to carry her in a bigger pocket or a small bag is not a issue for me. robb Posted August 21 Share #178 Posted August 21 I’ll take an apo 28 to match my q3 43. ibis would be great. Joystick like sl2 series. Robb
zlatkob Posted August 21 Share #179 Posted August 21 (edited) The most valuable improvements would relate to autofocus. Tracking should be better (it should be more sticky, and shouldn't wander around for no reason). Eye/Face/Body Detection should be better. Low light autofocus should be better. The implementation of Eye/Face/Body Detection on the Q3 is bananas. Moving focus from one person to the next sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. There's no need for boxes on every face or body. Current Sony cameras (A7iv and newer) do this better, making it easy to pick one person in a group and have the focus track that person like magic, without the clutter of many focus boxes. The Q3 body is pretty great, so I wouldn't change it much. I don't care for accessories (grips, etc.) that make it bigger/bulkier/heavier. JNK100 Posted August 21 Share #180 Posted August 21 What is wrong with the current 28mm lens? I find the IQ superb and an APO would be slower. I find the current OIS just fine .
