Max Mini M1 16 GB RAM. I am not surprised that everything runs fast on a powerhouse like you have.

I think the relevant fact in @SrMi's post was that Adobe NR runs twice as fast as DXO. Your experience is the other way round. The difference is presumably down to something in the hardware, but not the raw power.

I'm still surprised your M1 system takes around a minute for a file in Adobe. My 2-3 year old Windows PC (decent graphics card and RAM, but not heroic gamer standard) takes about 10s for SL2-S and Q2 files.

He asked for listing the computing gear. In my configuration Adobe Enhance is more than twice as slow or even slower. DXO is within ten seconds, Topaz depending on the plug-in and the image similarity fast or slightly slower. Why I don’t know.

Interestingly, the ratio of 2:1 is reversed in my configuration. I have tried various settings for DxO with the help of others on dprevived.com, but could not reverse the ratio as seen on your and other people's configuration.

When I use the LR AI De-Noise I get a tiff file.  Is there a way to use the feature without getting a new file?

Yes - just run the file through Adobe's DNG converter.

You can even try changing the extension to .dng.  It has been known to work.

There is no real reason to return to DNG. Both files contain the same data.
