are the 3 brass points at the bottom for some kind of nfc charger?

This are electrical contacts for pogo-pins for charging, presumably from the grip. It’s pretty much the same as what’s the iPad Pro uses for the keyboard.

Hmm do you think the Q2 accessories will work for it?

Looks to be same battery. You’ll likely need a different thumbs up grip that will clear the function buttons. Also different hand grip if you want charging capability.

No idea, but i'm sure we will know in a week

Slide flap looks to be for the USB-C charging. There’s no other place to put a USB-C connector on this body. It also seems to still support SD cards based on the bottom cover.

Based on the electrical specs printed on the bottom, it’s at least the same voltage as the Q2/SL battery.

Also, the fact that it supports 9v charging and up to 2.5A means it will support USB-C PD and can take enough power to keep the camera running while slowly charge the battery at the same time.

In that there is a locating hole next to the three contacts, my guess would be that Leica will offer a grip with an additional battery in it. As an outside possibility, the grip may offer GPS Geotagging like the grip for the M240 did. I think this is unlikely as Leica seem committed to the GPS linking via Fotos app, no matter how flaky it is plus the requirement to carry a smart phone. It would be just about OK if it linked to an cellular Apple Watch for GPS but I am not sure that would be technically possible.

Starting with: if these images are correct - and the chances are they are...........

The menu button layout is a break from the recent pattern of PLAY-FN-MENU on the LHS, which was handy for those of us working across Leica cameras. I guess a flippy screen may have driven the change?

This will become known as the Fat Boy Q. I hope it still feels comfortable between the fingers and in the hand.

It would be nice if one could use a Magsafe charger with this.

though it does look like the screen is not that thick, doesn't seem to extend beyond the VF

ok...let's continue this Q3 guessing game with a ka-ching sub-topic..

USD8000?

With the multiple Q3 improvements and looking back to the Q to Q2 price increase, I anticipate around a 20% higher price. So in US $ that means $6995 for the Q3 before accessories.

Very much doubt this will debut at a price higher than $6299

Better a a bit thicker flippy-screen which is robust and easy to grab e.g. with gloves than a flimsy delicate one. However, the Q3 loses a bit of its elegance with the protruding screen.

Regarding the price: I dearly hope that they stay reasonable (in Leica terms). A price far above 6200 Euro would not be a very clever move. However, with the latest price changes in the M-Line or the increases on the Q2, I expect the worst. Which for me would clearly mean, if the same happens in the SL-Line, that I will use the Q2 and the SL2s to its death and otherwise skip Leica for future investments. I am repeating myself, but with the M11 they have finally entered crazy-land in my opinion and my price-value understanding (which is of course, using Leica, already far off the average and sane person :D )
