Only a quick Pic to see how the new 11 Blades performs, no Ninja-Stars in the background at f4 - quite good!

EDIT: Sorry, image tags don't work, so not sure how to post them. I refuse to upload them to the forum directly, they crush the image quality so badly.

It's here! I also had the T-PRO clear filter shipped already, so I put that on immediately.

A quick photo of it with my current 50mm lux black chrome:

This is the first shot I took with it, just turned it around and took a photo of the black chrome:

Didn't really have anything to shoot, so grabbed my OneStep

Close focus at minimum distance.

Weighed it against the black chrome. About 10 grams of difference. Includes the rear lens cap (the same one for both):

Tomorrow I have a photo shoot with a model, I'll shoot some on both lenses for a real-life comparison (not some technical test shots on a tripod).

My experience with it for just a few hours:

- The focus ring is much tighter than the black chrome, not sure if I like that. I have to push hard to move it, and so it's a bit hard to fine tune focus. My BC is very smooth. It might just because the lens is new? My BC came used, so it was already broken in nicely.
- I don't love the focus tab yet (I've never had a tabbed lens, just this black chrome scallop). I'll need to learn it better.
- The aperture ring clicks are very very nice. Way sturdier than the black chrome. I didn't feel like it would slip everywhere like the BC does.
- The subtle bump when you get to close focus is very noticeable, so I think it's nice
- Close focus so far is very very cool. I feel like, however, it's not as "close" as I expected it to be. But still nice. I don't like using LiveView, but it'll be good in a pinch. For some reason it doesn't focus peak or highlight with this lens on, but it does with my BC. Must be some kind of setting in my M11?

Overall, so far it's good, but it hasn't blown me away yet. I need to learn the focus tab, and fiddle with my LV settings, and maybe I'll really love it. I don't know if it's because I'm used to the BC, but I find it hard to let that one go and just use this new one. Time will tell.

The black chrome is an amazing lens, so I think it'll be hard for anything to compare. Tomorrow will be the true test.

I received my copy today, ordered directly from Leica online store Austria. Lens arrived, I gave it a once over and there is quite a lot of dust inside it. Haven't had this happen to me before and I have to say i'm disappointed.

When i was cleaning the rear element with a lens cloth I noticed the rear element moves and rattles, as if it is a little loose. I haven't had a Leica FLE lens before, is this normal?

Absolutely not normal. Floating element mechanism has *nothing* to do with rear element moving and rattling..

That is what I figured as well. I've contacted Leica customer care & the online store as well, let's see how this pans out...

Mine was very dusty on the rear and front glass as well when it came, but no rattling.

I just got mine from Adorama - I ordered it about 15 minutes after the product page went live, and it still took almost a month. :)

No rattling or anything. The focusing ring feels a bit tighter than on my old Lux, and it's a bit bigger, but that's about it. I will take some pictures this weekend to see if I can notice any difference besides the close-focusing ability.

M11 and 50 Lux APSH v2 a 0.70m @ 1.4 capture one edit.

This is a really nice portrait showing the qualities! This lens has more character at 1.4 than a missed shot with a Noctilux @0.95... I'm thinking I am right with my decision to sell the Noctilux 0.95 and the 50 APO to get the new summilux and some cash.

This lens is a beauty…Quick trip to Pittsburgh all shot with the 50 Lux 2023. All shots at or very close to wide open. Impressive little lens. Also the compression this page applies makes these look not the best :)

Some weight differences between it and my Black Chrome. This is with the rear lens cap on. No filters.

B+W T-Pro Clear filter in silver mounted on the silver lens. It's a darker gray / titanium color, but I think it looks nice. You can't see it when you have the hood extended. The lens cap still clips to it.
