Superb portrait, excellent use of available light.

+1. One of the best portrait shots I have seen in a long time. Evokes memories of portrait shots taken by Steve McCurry (which in my view is high praise).

I would buy the book for this one image!

Just out of interest, what is a Nocticron 42.5/1.2?

If you buy it for that one image, you'll get a bonus of an entire book full of great portraits. It has nothing but 5 star reviews on Amazon.

Here's a review of the 42.5 Nocticron/1.2.

It's a micro four thirds lens by Panasonic/Leica

Thanks - I hadn't heard of this lens.  Did you use it on your SL?  I have really enjoyed your portraits with the SL 50mm Summilux and this lens seems to produce similar results.

Have ordered your book - it arrives tomorrow 🙂

Thank you for your kind words and for ordering my book. I hope you like it.

The lens is a micro-four-thirds lens from 2014. It's half the size of a full-frame lens so sadly not compatible with the SL2. It renders beautifully and yes much like the SL 50 Summilux. Sadly, I'm selling it. I don't use it any more.
