shirubadanieru Posted January 23 Share #1 Posted January 23 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve tried all Leica 35 and 50mm lenses, and yet I keep coming back to the lenses that started it all, the Elmar 50mm f3.5 and the 35mm f3.5. Just thought of starting a thread for people to share their shots with Leica’s first 50mm & 35mm lens, which are still great shooters today, almost 100y later since their release. I’ll start Elmar 50mm f3.5 | Leica M3 Welcome, dear visitor! (I got a 1958 LTM adapted to my M 😊).
Jul Posted January 23 Share #11 Posted January 23 Great thread idea @shirubadanieru, may it be pinned on top of the yet to be created LTM dedicated subsection of this forum! 2 hours ago, mcpallesen said: How does it compare to the 35mm f/3.5 Summaron? Pyrogallol Posted January 23 Share #12 Posted January 23 I have several 35mm Elmar and Summaron lenses and noticed that their prices seem to have doubled in the last year or two.

While I prefer the Elmar rendering to the Summaron, both are great & the summaron ltm is such a well built lens. haze is very common with the summarons though.. shirubadanieru Posted January 25 Author Share #19 Posted January 25 Elmar 50mm f3.5 shot wide open on M10M. Love the bokeh from this lens. Amazing rendering at f3.5, there’s no need to shoot at f1 to get beautiful bokeh ; ) Welcome, dear visitor!
