I am new to Leica; just bought a third-hand Monochrom and want to know whether it is a type 1,2 or another model.  How can I find out?  Thank you.

V2 if it takes the electronic viewfinder or has liveview. Also 25 mega pixels, as V1 has 18MP.

Weston Beach, Point Lobos, California.  Named after the great Edward Weston, who did much of his photography at Point Lobos.  So I'm out there, and I for a fleeting moment or two, I can almost picture him there, photographing a rock formation, with his digital Leica M Monochrom...

Wait, not quite!  Something like that I guess.

Anyway--

Just got my (very nearly) four year old M Monochrom mk1 back from the factory. New sensor fitted, and ready for the next four years and beyond. It's nice to have it back. One of the first images on the new sensor - with 50mm Summilux ASPH, shot wide open.
