RobM Posted October 16, 2019 Share #2623 Posted October 16, 2019 Dierk - that's very similar to St Pancras station in London. A good, well-framed picture.

A good, well-framed picture. thanks, Rob! My new MM 246 arrived today. I had no chance for testing during daylight, so I went out late in the dark and did some test shots. I allowed ISO 12500 as maximum. I used the Tri-Elmar-M hand held. - but I just noticed, that this thread is only for the MM1 and deleted the pictures 😞 Edited October 16, 2019 by dierk

Cheers, David Cheers, David - thank you. As much as I like the output of the M Monochrom at higher ISO settings, it does have lovely tonality at 320 ISO, which is what this picture was shot at.
DwF Posted October 19, 2019 Share #2631 Posted October 19, 2019 Ah! I wondered about that. It has that creamy and rich Neopan quality about it. 320 works for me, and coming from M9, it was a while before I discovered 1600 which I try to work with now on the MM. I was thinking maybe I over did the contrast so this is good feedback for me. I will play with it; Grade 5 since I missed the +2 at dev stage ....back to the drawing board. As it is, what shows here is less detail in shadow (foliage in tree that i tried to retain). My best, David
otto.f Posted October 19, 2019 Share #2636 Posted October 19, 2019 Yeah won’t be easy if I look closer; the grey parts of the umbrella, whose side are they on if you go harder? I would like the grey to stay. Perhaps just vignetting the image will help, dark edges I mean.
DwF Posted October 19, 2019 Share #2637 Posted October 19, 2019 Yes, it is truly problematic for me because shot through the windshield, there is just enough disruption without looking like it was intended. The higher contrast accentuates some of that in a way that makes it worse.....is what it is THank you Otto though for taking time with it!
