This thread has been spinning out for a long time. A little bit like the worn out thread on my 'can't throw away' Billingham. The good thing is, this bag doesn't give away the value of contents within - (hopefully not anyway). My M6 has been with me for many years now. It's a beautiful piece of equipment that works tirelessly and is reliable when lesser kit breaks down. It's a dependable part of my artist's palette. Unlike the artist.

Incidentally, if anyone is close to Savannah at the end of May, please drop by and visit me and my exhibition of paintings. picturewire

Contact me and I'll send you the location details. PAUL:)

I'm learning to love my M6. I do love the way it feels and how it handles.

I wish there was an 'UN-Thanks' button for posts like this.

Ha! he might be referring to the other post about my M6 image quality via scanning. I posted the same picture as an example of the issue I was having. Either that or he doesn't like the photo and that's his nice way of saying I took a crap picture. I'm not too worried either way;)

I know what you mean though that button would be convenient , save me the time of calling certain people out!

Having looked through your LFI gallery, your M6 seems to be doing rather well but I suppose you can take some of the credit ;)

Pete

Thank you! Seriously though most of the credit should go to the cameras, before I picked up a Leica I was in the photographic doldrums. They are very inspiring.

It's helpful to hear feedback good, bad or indifferent so I really appreciate you taking a look. I'm glad you dig it, thank you!

Tony,

That's good news, so you might be able to pass it on when you finally go to be reprocessed in the big Lab in the sky ! I'm not sure my immediate family would appreciate my Leica Ms, they'd be dropped scratched chipped or lost in a few months. I'll have to work on my grandsons in a hope they will appreciate the craft.

Regards, Lincoln

It shouldn't be very stiff to turn. Is it stiff when no film canister is in the camera? Stiffness depends on the film and canister. It will get stiffer as more film is wound back into the cassette.

If you accidently let go of the lever whilst winding it will spin requiring all that slack film to be tightened up again. This does my head in. It's why I prefer the M2 and MP rewind mechanisms.

You won't be able to get correct exposure without a ND filter as the shutter speeds aren't fast enough.

Mine is stiff too, has been since new. Never gives me any problems though. When there is no film in the camera if feels like butter, thus it must be the film/canister relationship, or the slipping clutch when in freewheel. Winding the camera also is smooth.

Should the M6 have a clutch to stop the rewind slipping should it be released mid wind as with an MP?
