sketchyhead Posted May 13, 2011 Share #461 Posted May 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) This thread has been spinning out for a long time. A little bit like the worn out thread on my 'can't throw away' Billingham. The good thing is, this bag doesn't give away the value of contents within - (hopefully not anyway). My M6 has been with me for many years now. It's a beautiful piece of equipment that works tirelessly and is reliable when lesser kit breaks down. It's a dependable part of my artist's palette. Unlike the artist. Incidentally, if anyone is close to Savannah at the end of May, please drop by and visit me and my exhibition of paintings. picturewire Contact me and I'll send you the location details. Ha! he might be referring to the other post about my M6 image quality via scanning. I posted the same picture as an example of the issue I was having. Either that or he doesn't like the photo and that's his nice way of saying I took a crap picture. I'm not too worried either way;) I know what you mean though that button would be convenient , save me the time of calling certain people out! johnloumiles Posted July 14, 2011 Share #470 Posted July 14, 2011 Having looked through your LFI gallery, your M6 seems to be doing rather well but I suppose you can take some of the credit Pete Thank you! Seriously though most of the credit should go to the cameras, before I picked up a Leica I was in the photographic doldrums. They are very inspiring. Looking at you website lots of really nice stuff;) It's helpful to hear feedback good, bad or indifferent so I really appreciate you taking a look. I'm glad you dig it, thank you! lincoln_m Posted July 15, 2011 Share #473 Posted July 15, 2011 Tony, That's good news, so you might be able to pass it on when you finally go to be reprocessed in the big Lab in the sky ! I'm not sure my immediate family would appreciate my Leica Ms, they'd be dropped scratched chipped or lost in a few months. I'll have to work on my grandsons in a hope they will appreciate the craft. It shouldn't be very stiff to turn. Is it stiff when no film canister is in the camera? Stiffness depends on the film and canister. It will get stiffer as more film is wound back into the cassette. If you accidently let go of the lever whilst winding it will spin requiring all that slack film to be tightened up again. This does my head in. It's why I prefer the M2 and MP rewind mechanisms. You won't be able to get correct exposure without a ND filter as the shutter speeds aren't fast enough. Pete
too old to care Posted August 1, 2011 Share #477 Posted August 1, 2011 guys....when i rewind my film its quite stiff and when i release my lever it will turn back quickly and need to rewind again...is that normal for M6 classic?? and how do i get correctly exposure using f2 with ISO 400 film under sunny day without any filter on it?? Mine is stiff too, has been since new. Never gives me any problems though. When there is no film in the camera if feels like butter, thus it must be the film/canister relationship, or the slipping clutch when in freewheel. Winding the camera also is smooth. menos I M6 Posted August 1, 2011 Share #480 Posted August 1, 2011 Should the M6 have a clutch to stop the rewind slipping should it be released mid wind as with an MP? Pete No, it is just a regular rewind crank with all the slipping fun ;-)
