The votes are in and the poll has closed. Another One Challenge is over for the year.

The votes have been counted and checked and it must be clear to everyone that this year there has been a runaway winner. I am therefore delighted to congratulate Christoph, for his winning shot, Nr 10. Christoph received 98 points, which is a remarkable achievement.

Second was yours truly with 58 points for shot Nr 7, and third was Dan, with shot Nr 4 and 43 points.

Can I express a sincere thank you to everyone who took part for making this year a really good one to come back from the 2020-21 situation, and especially to Ravi for his hard work sorting out the venues.

Well done Christoph. If you could nominate a charity, I will transfer the prize pot to them tomorrow.

Here's to Dubrovnik, next year. :)

Congratulations to the three worthy winners. A particular welcome for Christoph to the 'Club'. I have watched your work over the years and admire the diversity that you achieve.

I am pleased that I (as a Challenge retiree) managed to 'recognize' and vote for Andy whose style I both enjoy and recognized. For me that was a win!

For Dan, another ardent companion, I enjoy your 'reflective' entry and a worthwhile placegetter.

To all the entrants. In my view, you are all winners because it is my firm belief that arriving at the point of submitting an entry makes you an automatic winner. In any competition I have always set myself the target to satisfy my own criteria for submission. If I reach that, it is a win. What others judge is immaterial.

Well done all.

Well deserved congratulations to Christoph, Andy and Dan! Having bumped into Christoph a couple of times up there I did suspect him of being up to (no) good...

Thanks Andy and Ravi for the flawless background work.

Thank you all.

Athens was in so many ways surprising for me. and I am very glad that my entry picture was so well liked here. It took me the best part of a week to decide on which picture to submit but it seems I did not make the wrong choice in the end.

Congratulations to Andy for his superb and well composed picture of the Acropolis - If there's one characteristic picture of Athens ...

Congratulations also to Dan, combining the hammer girl with the reflection was a stroke of genius.

Congratulations further to all other entrants - what an exciting melange of pictures. As John said many times, if you participate you are a winner.

Thank you all for the days of delightful company in Athens, as usual, the photography oftentimes is just the background to chat and enjoy life (and food) with a bunch of likeminded (more or less), interesting and friendly fellow humans on this planet of ours. And, of course, a special thanks to Andy and Ravi for their year-long preparations.

Andy, I'm still thinking about where to place the donation and will contact you shortly.

Looking forward to meet up next year in the sunny south again,

In the meantime, stay safe and good light,

Christoph

Well, big congratulations to Christoph, Andy and Dan for their excellent contributions.

My best thanks to everyone who contributed to the gallery.

It was also nice to see the usual suspects again and see this tradition being re-started after a two-year break.

Congratulations and very well done to Christoph, Andy and Dan; well deserved winners.

Again, a big thank you to Andy and Ravi for organising such a fabulous weekend, which was a great success despite the weather. We always enjoy the chance of meeting up with both new and old friends and now look forward to Dubrovnik next October.

Thank you to everyone who came out to play whether that was in Athens or your commentary online. So many familiar faces, fond memories of those who could not make it and some new people.

Congratulations to Christoph - I am sure your entire roll of film would has other impressive shots and also to Andy delivered something that resonated with us.

See you in Dubrovnik next year - perhaps sooner if there is a UK gathering.

@erlI miss your presence very much.

Christoph has asked me to put the €150 to the Worldwide Cancer Research charity, the same one that we have previously collected for via the LUF Book Projects.

I am pleased to say that this donation has been made this lunchtime to support their magnificent work.

Thank you Christoph and thank you everyone who put their €10 in the pot in Athens.
