M262 - Shutter has stopped and the red LED is flashing

My M262 that I have owned/used for approx 8 years has suddenly stopped working.

The symptoms are:
- When I switch the camera on the red LED light on the back of the case flashes for approx 1 sec
- The shutter will not depress or fire
- when I switch the camera off, the red LED light comes on for approx 1-2 secs.

There are not other errors or warnings that I cab see in the back screen drop down menus.
I have also recently replaced the battery with a new one (from Leica) so that is all ok.

Any ideas what the next step is?
Do I need too send the camera back too Leica?

ok - thanks for the suggestion - however, I tried to swap the memory card, but nothing changed there.

Obvious, your M262 is in need to be checked by Leica.

Eight years of use, not bad.
